well, surprisingly this semester many people used max, because we just realized maya can be a very helpful tool. there were only three of us [out of 45] that used Maya, and we used animation to begin to design architecture that is more fluid and more reactive, and not so - boxy. my project this year was about evolution, so needless to say an animator program worked much better than a traditional means of conveying architecture.
