Inserting some sarcasm... of course, we're told exactly how technologies are used, and signals cannot possibly be traced or recorded, and what use would governments possibly have it tracking their citizens...
Even if there isn't really a usefulness to the tracking, the government loves a thing called control.
Paranoid, sure. I can admit it. But I'd rather be paranoid than blindly accept that tracking devices (GPS) don't ever store information on us.
