I love A. Hughes' work . I like lenght of this song (btw every hughes' track lasts 60min) and love every sound in this piece, whales, water, bells... This song mirrors reality of ocean well - endless wide, and......wet

I just turned on the ambient channel and hit my futon for a quick nap but I simply could not fall asleep to the boringly repetitive sound of this track.

You can tear my finger nails off, hold my head under water... but please, anything but 60 minutes of this!

Default Anton Hughes - Whales Of The Pacific

Ha! Seems there are more than a few that find this to be more grating than appealing.

It would be okay as an excerpt at about 8 minutes, but 60 minutes??? I don't think so. It's all the same thing. No movements or anything to make it interesting (turning annoying) even as an ambient track. Past 8 minutes is too much.

The artist released several other similar atmospheric albums the same year as this (1993) on the "budget" LaserLight Digital leg of the Delta Music label.

Cardamar, you could pull this track from the ambient channel playlist and it wouldn't be missed. Some of us that know it's 60 minutes long wouldn't have to change the channel when it starts playing.

I like it. Maybe a bit too repetitive, true, but still sounds nice. Reminds me of Kamal's albums with whales sounds which I find very relaxing.

Default Yes, it's true.

6 months later I still loathe this track, I run to change the channel or put on a CD when it starts, and know I have to wait an hour before it expires and I can go back to the Ambient channel. Thanks a lot Cardamar. Do you even still run the Ambient channel?

It's not even waves or water lapping at a boat, but the sound of some dude washing his dirty clothes in the river.

Yes, yes... Another 3 months passes and I still loathe this track. Jumped up and threw in a FAX CD that should be done a little after the old and far too long new age water-splashy, every-minute-is-exactly-the-same whale song trash. Thanks again Cardamar (if you're still there which I sincerely doubt by now).
