Lightbulb The What Are You Currently Working On Thread!

Well reason for this thread is simply for you people who like to produce, to have a place where you can show your work in progress, you ideas on melodies, bass lines, beat patterns, you name it.

I for one, work with music everyday, and I get new ideas for Tracks all the time, and I've always wanted a place/thread where I along with every other producer on these forum, were able to put up samples of build ups, breakdowns, main melodies, or simply just an intro or whatever it might be.

So for those of you out there looking for ideas on a track your stuck with, or simply want some feedback on the current status of the track, feel free to use this thread. Ill post a sample tomorrow, cause I have to go to bed now, but I'd really like som feedback on it, just to hear if people think it would be worth continueing with or if I should just throw it out

Here is my current project: http://www.myspace.com/thesellexproject

Haven't done much with it lately and i posted it before. I'm kinda tired of it to be honest lol. and i gotta change something after the breakdown, the main melody sounds boring with the same beatline.

Working on a DJ mix for an anime convention. The mix is full of breaks, house, and IDM.

Also working on a couple of new tracks for the next "unofficial" track competition. I think maybe a bangin techno track a la Orange Minus is in order.

This is a cool thread.

I'm working on a funk song at the moment. I'm not too good a slapping the bass so I'm rehersing and brushing up on slapping techniques before hitting the record button. I have completed the lyrics though. Once I've recorded the bass part I'll be uploading it to a collab site and see if anyone wants to join in.

well, I sat down to do the progressive tune.. dark progressive... I usually switch between styles, just what comes up... but this time I decided that no matter what happens, I got to come up with the melody, bassline, and make the progressive tune already, I've done the bassline, simple beats.. and then I started playing with percussion, and weirdly I didn't notice I was making a 1.5 bar percussion line, when everything else was 4, and it came out so good... but there is no way in hell I can make it a prog, so Im going to techno...

darn me...

here's an 8 bar sample... first 4 bars with no bass, and last 4 bars with bass, just to benefit the drum pattern a little

Darn It

bassline (1.5 bars too) needs a little more work, but I just love the drums, no matter what you all will say :tongue
I have a feeling it will be pain in the rear to structure this thing tho...

I am currently working on Idm/ breaks/ ambiant collab with pudman x,
and remixing a hardcore song for a friend called "Midget" (the song, not the Friend).

But severe computer problems are hindering my progress.

Nice chilling tune there mate few things though, in the beginning your pad sounds like its "jumping" over at some load/change points, like where its done and about to start over it sounds like a small "scratch" point where you can hear it jumps over. Except that I really like the synth coming in and nice beat not my type of genre hehe but some nice elements in it, keep working on it

Ok so here's a small sample of a choon I just started working on. It's nothing much yet and I'm not really sure if I should continue working on it or focus on another project instead, cause this track kinda feels like an dead end.

What do ya think? is it horrible or ok?

No productions for me lately... mostly just spinning at my house trying to come up with some new mixes. Mostly mixes with either house/trance/breaks or dnb/hiphop. I plan to start upgrading my equipment soon to which is long over due.

I really like it, I love Goa so nice to see someone working with that.. Only thing is, some percussion such as some hats, eggs, cymbals etc would be nice and filling to the choon.. please try add a few of these and lemme hear also one other thing, could ya try and raise the lower level of the frequency on the kick just a tiny bit, when listening on speakers the kick is really thin, I know its supposed to be like that since its goa, but its just abit too thin

Smile Craziness!!!

I'll have to throw some of my music up when I have the time. I'm working on too many projects right now which is why I haven't been around on the boards as much. I just finished a remix, a mix for the competition, working on a mix for the classic electronica channel, working on a hardstyle track which adone heard a part of a couple months back and I'm working on a techno or a tech trance track. I'm not sure yet what genre it will be or if you could even classify it as any of the known genres. I'll try to share something with you all next week or the week after.
