Judging by his "find all posts by" thing i'd say he just wanted to get to 15 posts so he could post a link to a set he spun

I'd choose VW over BMW. I like the design of VW's better although I've never tried either brands.

i'm kind of in the same boat though, i'm and 04 and I want 15 so I can get help with a song ID...lol

As for staying on topic though. Having owned both, they are nice cars, the VW will cost less but will require more maintenance, and the BMW will overall be better and the transmission is a lot more fun too.

BMW should have a small MPV in its lineup.

Imo that wouldn't really fit into their range.

I've had both (I had a 1992 Jetta and currently drive a 1995 525i) and they both were and are really good cars. I prefer the Bimmer because of all of the luxury features (like power windows and AC, such a godsend) and people think I'm rich when I tell them I drive a BMW so that's most definitely a plus.

The Jetta crapped out at like 280,000 miles and the BMW is currently at like 170,000 so they both last a while as long as you maintain them. My siblings have owned domestic cars and I can't say they've lasted as long...

If they put focus on handling they'd have their own corner of the market. Something resembling the Honda FR-V, a short boxy thing.

Technically, VW own alot of other car companies, so are Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Bentley included too?

Well, BMW got Mini's right? :P Volkswagens are better than BMW's because you aren't regarded a ego maniac when you drive one. Sensible cars, for Sensible people.
