dunno if I agree with that Dustwave..They are just too different to be compared.. The SLR was never going ot be a new F1.... it is even by mercs own admission quite tame... the F1 was just dangerous on the roads...to twitchy, but awesome on the track..... I guess you just have to ask if the car achieved what it was designed for.. personally id have an SLR over an F1...just more usuable. I may live a couple of months, as opposed to a couple of days in a F1!!!
The only real comparrason to th ef! is maybe the Keoniggzegg or whatever you call it.. maybe the Salenn, and mosler too... but even the Veyron is design to certain comfort and refinment levels.. the F1 was a brute. Ferrari are suffering the same thing..Nothing has replaced the F40 in true racers oppions.. all their latest cars, (even the enzo allegedly) just doesnt have that feel to it.. But im waffling.....Guess what im trying to say is that by manufacturers making such a legendary car (F1, F40.... seems to be the F thing!) rends to be a rod for their back for the next 20 years.

it IS lethally fast though Btw, why do you think you can't compare them? Both were made as super cars for the really rich, both built by McLaren. People just want more luxery and comfort these days, not that raw nature...but essentially they aren't any different, both super cars with a shitload of power... The enzo feels like a tame horse in a rodeo...it has shitloads of power but fails at outputting it. And it's ugly. And it doesn't have a radio for gods sake! McLaren put one of the best audio systems ever put in a car in the F1 and still made it shitloads faster. Did you know where the name F1 comes from? Directly from ferrari's F40. McLaren interpretated f40 as "the 40th car in the top 100 of super cars". And obviously they were going to make number 1, hence F1 Gotta say that's brilliant reasoning ![]()

I'd just settle for a Shelby Viper Venom 550 and put the rest in a nice chopper with a 117 S&S or 131 H&L.

I'd have 3 cars and none of em supercars... I'd have a blue VW Golf R32 with 18" white Compomotive wheels, an offset white stripe down the left hand side of the bonnet, a full white leather retrim with blue piping, a leather trimmed fibreglass boot install with TV's in the front headrests and sun visors, finished off with a kickass Alpine install and tinted windows... Then I'd have a white Honda Civic EG with a 2.0 turbo fitted, stripped out interior with red bucket seats, roll cage, carbon interior panels, carbon bonnet, boot, spoiler, and lowered on 15" black Mugen wheels... Tasty
