I see what you mean Dustwave... although I'm not sure if it is a funny car.

I'm trying to think of how to get some A3 images of it, including the original but also in different colours too.

The Mercedes S600L is the ultimate car in my books. Probably the most all-round advanced car in the world - I usually hate Mercedes, but they pull out all the stops for the S-Class. Brutally fast (510bhp twin-turbo V12), huge, menacing, ridiculously safe and hi-tech. Not only would it beat many sports cars in a sprint, its also comfortable and would obliterate them in a crash, along with just about everything else.

edit: Audi A8s are also le sex.

So true...saw 8 (heh funny coincidence) of them in a row at TEFAF today...next to a bunch of lamborghini's, ferrari's, a completely wrecked corvette c6 (too bad he didn't see that rock outlining the parking area), rolls royces, bentleys, porsches, an ascari KZ1, various aston martins, all kinds of BMW M cars, several BMW 760i's, top-end mercedeses, maybachs, an entire army of VW Pheaton W12s (VIP shuttles), and about every other expensive car you can think of. The M5 i was in paled in comparison.

Best part is that it's not some lame car event or something, but "real" cars with their real owners just looking for a spot to ditch the ride while they're inside buying multi-million dollar pieces of art hehe.

More on my previous post ^^

Fun day at work, had a project at a company RIGHT next to the conference complex The European Fine Art Fair is at. Turned out the company rented their garage to the conference complex for these two weeks...drove my car into the garage and parked it between ferrari's, lamborghini gallardo's, murcielago lp640, mercedes slr mclarens, rolls royce phantoms, bentleys (LOADS of those), aston martins, masserati's, audi rs8, audi a8 w12, etc etc etc... And my own kick ass bmw 330i (e90)

And that was just at that garage...haven't seen what else was parked at the garage of the complex itself today, but "sick" probably doesn't quite cut it. Saw a veyron there a couple of days ago...

Maybe a new Dodge Charger with all funky stuff to go with it.

Or maybe a Dodge Viper would be a nice one too.

They're awesome cars. I'm kinda used to seeing them, two people in my street own Phaeton W12L's. But this large group (10+) of em was really cool to see. And there were plenty more driving around through town... They were VIP taxi's during The European Fine Art Fair. Every year Volkswagen sends over an army of brand new Phaetons to drive the rich and famous around

Last year i got to do a little trafficlight sprint with a bored driver (in a Phaeton W12L) who was waiting for his passenger to arrive...Even though those Phaetons have one fatt ass engine, it couldn't nearly keep up with an M5

I've only seen one here in the UK, almost mistook it for a Passat haha. Passers by must've wondered what on earth I was doing gazing at a seemingly normal car, but I guess that discreetness is a big part of the appeal. Im sure theyre much more common in Germany, where you regularly see big Mercs and Beemers slogging round the capital as normal taxis.

And of course there was no contest in that sprint, M5s are designed to bolt off the line I wouldnt be so confident in a motorway rolling-start situation though. Phaetons and the likes are geared to chew up motorways, or as my dad says "designed to carry 5 fat Germans in a straight line"
His S500 (5.0 V8) for example is absolutely crap off the line, and acceleration is pretty average. But its party piece is the fact that the rate of acceleration doesnt slow - it'll just surge forward no matter what speed or incline you floor it at. Yeah, 0-100 a lot of cars would take an S or a Phaeton with ease, but its 100+ where they come into their own. But I guess M5s give you the best of both worlds...

Probably, though i wouldn't know, i'm not in germany that often

Here's something to drool on for ya. Just a hand full of the army of W12L's that was driving around for TEFAF:

That's true, though i'm pretty sure not in this case. The M5 ain't my own (my dad's), but i'll try and see if i can hook up little test run against a W12L in germany sometime when he doesn't need his car...

Would be nice if he passed the keys on to me sometime (like next week). Though gotta say my own car (bmw 330i with M sport package) is quite nice aswell, and can almost keep up with a W12L. And if i get fed up with loosing from a friggin Phaeton i'll grab my girlfriends car and obliterate all three of those cars, yay for tuned Audi's

Jaguar XJ 220

Most beautiful car ever made IMO. I would definitely pick one of those up LONG before anything else.
