![]() ![]() ![]() I hope to get a Jota in the distant future (or preferably the near future if I was wishing for things). I just hope that supercars don't get banned in the future because of this whole big issue about global warming! At the moment I have actually got a car at all; in fact I still don't even have my driving lisence! Unlike everyone else I know who doesn't really care what they get for a first car I'm looking for something that has potential for upgradeablility - something rear wheel drive and preferably rear or mid engine! The only thing like this that I can think for less than £2000 of is the old VW Beetle! Any suggestions?

![]() What's the F1 LM's top speed by the way, I thought it was claimed to be 255mph which would mean that it's faster than the Buggatti Veyron! Even if it's not, it's still better than all the supercars that have been made to beat the F1's top speed of 244mph (or whatever it was!). The fact that the F1 was made around over 10 years ago now and only just been recently that cars have been made that are able to beat it on top speed shows that the F1 is somewhat of a supercar legend! Also, it easily looks much better than the new 'hypercars' like the Veyron (which has a front grill that appears to have been nicked from an Alfa Romeo!).

thats the F1 road car not the LM car, and that was never really reached apart from possibly under perfect track conditions. the LM cars, like with ther mercs, and astons are actually only capable of 190-210 sort of speeds...

The official topspeed of the McLaren F1 is 386.6 km/h (240-something mph), the LM version is slightly different and has a lower topspeed. There used to be a nice scheme with all the differences between the different McLaren F1 versions...though the original site (mclarencars.com) has changed to the Mercedez-Benz SLR McLaren website :/
The F1 has reached higher speeds than the official top speed several times, and in 2002 (?) someone tuned an F1 a little further (wtf?) and pulled a bad ass 421km/h. Beats any Bugatti. R.I.P. Black F1 On the ocean floor along with the ship it was on. ![]()

mercedes should leave McLaren alone so they can go make truely super cars on their own, veyron killers imo mercedes didn't do any good to the slr mclaren, compare it to the absolute grand master of automobiles, the mclaren f1, and you'll have to conclude that mercedes took away everything that made mclaren great ![]()
