2010 Official Community Competition Idea Thread

The interest in this vday competition has been fading over the past 3 years but its going to happen and that's a fact. Some people already submitted their sets, and some are still working on them, last minute as usual. I still find lack of interest in love themes somewhat amusing and weird because 99% of music is about love in one way or another.

So in all the talk about other stuff i kind of lost track of details about this comp...so is it correct that the deadline is feb 6th? (just wondering, don't count me in for this one)

Don't underestimate the brilliance of my lunacy...there were 109 tracks and 109 samples, in 33 minutes and 9 seconds. Which was 2 seconds longer than i was aiming for, namely 1989 seconds. I was aiming for 1987, which is the year i was born, but with 9 being my lucky and favorite number 33:09 or 1989 isn't bad either). "Don't eat yellow snow kids" is indeed one of them...but that's by far the easiest one. As for the sex thing...it's part of a message, but not nearly the whole message. That particular message is actually fairly easy...

I'm afraid most of the other messages require a radically different though process (and the tracklist! *hint*). Mind you, i did intentionally make some of them so difficult that i don't expect anybody to find them.

that comp was interesting. not enough ppl participated. i still listen to mine every now and then i did some pretty sweet sounds live. as well as some radical mashups and reconstruction of tunes.

maybe so, but that is no reason not to have a new thread started for it instead of a casual post, buried by now, in a general discussion thread
in effect has kept away potential interest from new members too, even in regular comps with a stand alone thread some miss it till close to the deadline, how can we expect any interest in vDay the way has been handled?

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: January 8. Gives you two weeks

MIX DETAILS:
Theme: Vday themed. Love, Hate, Whatever VDay is in your eyes or want to portray. Creative titles are a MUST. Provide a description of your mix if you feel it needs one. It will be anonymous so pm the mixes to Ominae and keep your identity concealed.

format: mp3 @ 192kpbs (max)

Length - 40 mins (+/- 5mins)

genre - any and all genres accepted. Yes, including non edm.

Voting will last two weeks from start date? All participants must vote or face DQ.
