I usually dont get involved in these mix competitions, but i'm excited about this one
heres a list of genres i find crunchy(good) and buzz killers(not good weed music) to help avoid confusion, based on my personel opinions CRUNCHY goa psy ambient some chill out, psy chill preferably reggae dub deep house psychedelic rock anything with acid in front of it acid tehcno acid house acid trance lounge progressive (something deep and funky, no cheezy stuff) BUZZKILLERS Gabber hardcore death metal some rap (stuff like cyprus hill is ok) country emo pop punk rock( ska is ok) cheezy regular trance( some people are going to hate me for this one) like tiesto or DJ sammy NOT SURE ON Drums and base IDM again these are just suggestions they're not set in stone you can debate these amongst yourselves

Cypress Hill is stoned music and so is any other type of rap from the early 90s that sounds like them. It's the deep basslines, sampled phat beats and trippy sounds going on in the background that makes that type of rap good to hear while blazing. It's the stuff that has been coming out in the last 8 years that doesn't sound good when you're high.
Here's the good rap groups!!! Cypress Hill Das EFX Masta Ace KRS-One EPMD Cella Dwellas Heltah Skeltah Smif N Wessun Wu Tang Clan GZA ODB Rae Kwon Method Man Mobb Deep Smooth Da Hustla and many more... 1993-1996 rap is good for getting high.

Enough already with the rap artist idolatry.
Blah! Please lay down the rules for the competition now, DG. ![]()

Alright folks, I got equal votes for both so I'm going to meet in the middle and say that the maximum time is 50 minutes and the minimum time is 40 minutes. Give or take 2 minutes on either spectrum.
Come up with a trippy set, whatever it means to you and follow the time limit that I just mentioned. Jeremy, you had to mention Gang Starr so now I'm going to have to hear Moment of Truth and Hard to Earn you bastard. ![]() ![]()

1- What about tagteams? Don't forget the total length of time for them. 2- And participants must listen/vote otherwise their mix is disqualified. 3- No self votes

I'm not taking tags into account since nobody seems to be interested in doing so. If so then 60 minutes will be the max for tags. Yeah you can't vote for your own set because that's a gay thing to do and you have to listen to all the sets everyone. A true music listener would do that so don't be a fanboy and listen to only what you like. Only lame people do that!!!
BTW: No trolls allowed in my comps or near them!!!

6.) Smaples, mashups are optional
7.) No intro or outros So one is not allowed to start/end set with a sample....cause that would make it an intro/outro....... ![]()

that defeats the purpose - sit back, relax, inhale and let the now clumsy fingers do their thing.
![]() done one last night but am not sure if you guys trip deep enough to get it. ![]() Edit: hi Mikko, intro-outro I understand is not using self-promoting voice-over stuff (the anonymous thing). I don't see why you couldn't intro/outro your mix with a/some sample/s from whatever. Last edited by 90degrees : Mar 18th, 2008 at 05:12 AM. |

,No, that's not what it means. Some deejays have "signature openings or closings" which would disclose their identity. Those aren't allowed. Cheers! ![]()
