I haven't gone through them all, but holy crap, Cameron Raptor's mix is mindblowing. It's exactly what I was thinking of what a hard mix for halloween should sound like.

Right now my list is:
Fugue Cameron Rapter DJ JayfresH I haven't listened to them all yet, so don't use that list for points. I think Fugue's mix has to be the most unconventional mix I've ever heard. Air, Metallica, Venetian Snares, and Bjork in one mix? Honestly, that is the most insane collection of music I've ever heard. Insane props for putting that mix together.

DG, I feel sorry to say that you didn't top last years mix. I wish I could get a hold of your mix form last year (I had it, but lost it recently because my drive crashed and had to be formatted). I still liked it as a mix, but it just didn't have that evil creepy sound I was thinking of.

Fincore, i nearly forgot you asked for an opinion:
Intro is well creepy - very halloween indeed. in fact the entire mix did what many others failed to do - it was dark, not just due to the genre being hard but also cos they actually were dark. the mixing is seamless, no beatmatching problems and the transitions worked well for that style of music - the only draw back for me was that once the beat kicked in it was just one full on frenzy from beginning to end - relentless pounding was a little more than i could take. maybe i'm genre biased but i'm afraid i didn't quite enjoy it as much as some of the other mixes hence my choices...

I was just hoping you'd come up with some masterpiece like last year's, lol. I knew you weren't likely going to spin any DnB for it, but I was still looking forward to it. I guess Fugue gets my top vote this time... Though I'm really having a hard time figuring out which ones I like best, lol.
Any idea of how I could get a copy of that mix again though? I haven't been in much of a halloween mood lately, as opposed to last year. Maybe that mix will help me feel more into it.

fincore - 3 points
Shoom - 2 points HudsonHawk - 1 point* hard decisions must say, wish I had more points to hand out. I can't believe that that's your first mix fincore. I "got pounded" too but felt enough breaks and harmonies to carry the set successfully over it's duration. A grower and an introduction into an alien genre (for me) which I always had problems digesting. gh0zt, you fascinate me, I wanna spend a day in your head... El Hud, well, your mix went "nowhere", captured in psychosis, no way out. Beautiful cruel. *definitely a strategic vote, can't let you pass but happy to share j/k... will change anyways... to all I couldn't award - a big thank you for enriching my library and delivering great sets. As said before standalone ALL mixes are very good and I'm happy to see/hear that each DJ knows how to use his/her medium of choice. Also very happy I was in this one. new tally then, Tek-Fox: 11 points Fugue: 8 points Hudson Hawk: 7 points 90degrees: 7 points Mixtress Bloodwing: 6 points Shoom: 5 points Cameron Rapter: 4 points Deadly Groove: 4 points Dogfax: 3 points Jeff Andvik: 3 points fincore: 3 points Psneaky: 2 points Light Sequence: 1 point Pudman X: 1 point Phineasfreak: 1 point Last edited by 90degrees : Oct 23rd, 2007 at 03:39 AM. 90degrees, I hope you weren't in the same condition when u decided your 3 points as u were when you posted that UT screenshot ! No, seriously, such a pleasant surprise....THANK YOU!This was actually my 2nd mix of the 3 I've done.....the first had a few mistakes that caught my ear too much...The third try I ****ed up royally in the early part of the mix, so I was like, "F it, no time.....". This one also has guite a few things I would have liked to turn out better...I guess everyone is their own worst critic.... Phineas, thank you for your sincerity plus kind words . I totally understand that pounding thing you wrote about.....actually my game plan at first was not to go over 150bpm, cause I know that Gabber isn't really one of the most popular genres, so I didn't want to shock anyone with the overwhelming bassdrums. But in the process of choosing out the tracks I was gonna use, I thought of the "storyline" and then it felt appropriate for the bpm to rise as the battle intensify....that's my excuse .DG & fugue, thanks for your comments also...... Btw, I think I have the top 6 sorted....whom to give points to.....gonna be hard!

Fincore, I got one critisicm of your set. How come Evil Activities - We're Gonna Get You wasnt included!? Surely its a given in a halloween set, its so suitable?
I enjoyed the set anyhow, was really cool to see The Mine in there. Maybe WGGY wouldnt have fitted the flow, its got a relatively slow bpm, but you gotta admit that song is synonimous with halloween!
