Im downloading the torrents here at work, but the max im capping at on any of em is about 100k - they are all 11.5 gig files, so its a good 24-50 hr download per section.

Going to mess around with the idea of speeding the video up - i think stock is not going to be interesting enough of variation in scenery to make it worth it. My video editing skills are quite sub par, so I certainly am not qualified to spearhead this project, but more that willing to assist hudson wherever is needed if he finds he has the time for it.

Went through and listened to/watched all of these a couple weeks ago. Liked some more than others and really didn't get into the whole "watching a train go down the tracks" thing. I did appreciate that some sets were timed to certain events in the video, though (even if I didn't particularly care for the set in question).

if you watch really really carefully you will actually notice some landscape left and right of the "train going down the track".
if you keep watching really really carefully you may also notice that those change as well...just a hint

That's actually one heck of an analogy for edm. A lot of people seem to focus on only the repetitiveness of the traintracks going by. Yet the rest of us edm lovers are enjoying all the scenery that moves around us.

oh, not intended as such but now that you point that out, and nice you picked up on that, i could push this even a bit further.

given the controversy of the imo currently most discussed "What happened to..." threads it seems that some people wish those "trains going down the tracks" were still powered by coal and steam and totally reject the development of diesel and electric engines.
like the techniques on spinning/mixing...it's all about the journey and not what i use to travel.

if i then get an unqualified comment like that a couple of posts above and read the profile of the poster stating trance as his fav genre i sadly get justification on my wish-i-was-wrong prejudices.
it seems narrowmindedness prevails mostly with followers of that particular genre.

sorry if this sounded harsh, but as xyz already stated most people embrace edm for what it is and just watch (or listen to to be precise :P) the growth (note: founded constructive criticsm always welcome!!), with a lot of ppl saying that there are always pearls to be found within any genre, i wish some would just get off their backside and start searching or realise that the world will keep turning, as much as we like it to slow down or even halt for a bit, and if they don't like the current stuff on offer just stick with what they love/d but keep t f quiet.

Default to each their own

in light of the discussion, i thought i'd share one of the comments on my part

Oh, man, I loved this video series at first because it combined trains and Norway. No longer. It introduced me to a new way of enjoying music.

Thank you, to the maker of Part 9. It's the best! I'm now a big fan of Anjunabeats/Anjunadeep - never thought I would be enjoying this stuff, but it's fantastic.

This is downtown Bowery driving in the direction of Wall Street. The thing about night shots is they don't translate very well on this camera because of low light.

What? There were other things in those pictures besides the tracks? And bridges? And tunnels? And...

I'm pretty sure I had the intention of the concept down. It was interesting for a bit, but not seven hours. That doesn't mean I signed in and "disliked" every set or that I think everyone else should feel the same. I can and do appreciate the effort put into each set.

try nights after it has rained, with wet surfaces, as used in films to get more contrast and reflexion.
or get a bowser to drive half a mile in front of you
nice stuff, i was thinking about same with a Berlin ride and later this year London, after the Olympics ofc.
won't hold for a comp but maybe another creative thread where people just add over time, sets or snippets

edit:
forgot, was the cam fixed in the cab or handheld (which would be masterfully steady actually)

We're using hero pro 2 cam attached to the cab itself. And I'm afraid night shots are only possible in extremely well lit areas such as times square and and maybe 34th street which makes for a riveting 5 minute viewing experience.

Using NYC as the next project sounds like a great idea, HH.
