Otti: I just didn't want this to be something that one wins and then its over. I'm looking more for something with more relaxed rules, easy going friendly competition, and some new creative ideas. A place where djs can come to get their mixes heard and get some feedback.

So far looks like we have drig, seattle, and hudson doing a chillout/lounge/deep battle. You guys have any terms? time lenghts? date to have everything submitted by?


90* and myself still looking to get two others interested in a tag battle.

I am also down for mixed genre battle if anyone is interested. Trying to mix in 2 or 3 genres into a 45 min mix would be interesting if you could pull it off nicely

That was exactly what I was thinking of, you just started building up again and why shouldn't you be up battling just because you're missing some ammunition. Sometimes one track can build the bridge into something else. Also helps to get others involved, some dnb heads would be cool, can do good battle against breaks, breaks and chill-out works, prog and house and so on.
I'm up for trance and prog but also would like to try some breaks and house.

Maybe the tag team is the next step when we see how we're getting on but definitely something to keep in mind.
I'd imagine that Dustwave would be interested as well but he's on holidays at the mo.
Why not in a first wave put a 20-30 min mix up of each interested DJ for "browsing" and picking a "fight" (first post here announcing challenge, first serve)

hehe that's just me being lazy. Just turn off the deck and throw that record into a back spin. Bring in the new track. I've picked doing that up from going to raves. There's alwasy this dnb dj that follows some break dj. His stuff usually is faster bpms than the guy before him and he does something to that effect, but much better.

Yeah UK hard house is not for the soft. But if we got this tag team going I bet I could build off of any trance set.

tried three transitions out of "I got tha beat --- move your feet --- hyperspeed" and am not overly happy with all of them.
Can I cut that track from your spin-back transition? Nah, that's cheating.
Shall I wait for your upcoming house/breaks set?

I feel so weak.

Don't give the Hawk the tracklist. If he wants it he's gotta challenge you!

That break set is just another promo I guess... It's a work in progress that was the first try with those vinyl right out of the mail box. I just recieved more vinyl yesterday for the filler ins to bump it up to 45-1hr. But first I really want to try this house/breaks set out.

Aww dammit. It seems I've deleted the playlist doc. Now I'll have to go into my crate and search for the vinyl lol. Give me a day to figure out whiche crate they are in. I'm pretty sure they are still in order. except for "whoah" By deekline I use that track a lot.

Don't cut it just mimic it yourself. I'm sure you can pull it off, mine wasn't even great. And from that mix its seems like you like some deep breaks? maybe progressive and trance.

I reckon if Hudson is playing breakbeat at that speed I could come in and spin some progressive and build it from 128 to around 135 BPM and let one of the trance heads or Ominae take over with a Harder House beat.

I could do uplifting/progressive/hard/tech trance, progressive house/breaks, maybe even techno (with a little bit of trancey flavor here and there).

I'll post a short mix of the stuff I've been mostly spinning recently and I'm open for challenges. This sounds like fun.
