Is there a program I can use to grab up bandwidth to download faster, that is, one that can control and increase the speed which I can use on a LAN? I've tried and tried to do so from the lab which I'm in while I do my homework but I can't stay in here for more than 2 1/2 to 3 hours when it's taking 5 to complete...and if I'm not here and the comp goes idle it reboots after 15 minutes and erases it. Any thoughts?

So your LAN speed is capped? At what?
(No I don't think there is a program for this, but there might be a work around if you can explain your situation better) Why are you using the lab?

I'm using the lab because of the fact that I'm at school for a large portion of the day and prefer to do my studying on campus so that once I leave it's done and I think no more of it. What I'm experiencing is that for some of the time the download speed is good, like around 125 kbs or so, then it can go as low as 30 kbs. I'm wondering if there is a program that can control the download speed that my download connection is allocated. That is, to hog bandwidth to myself to get the job done quicker.
