Bah, I'm really starting to dislike the RIAA as an organisation. Like who really has the time to worry about ripping a particular song from a radio stream seriously. Ask your average internet radio listener why they tune in and I'm guessing most would say for the variety and convenience not piracy.
And now they want to add to the cost of great stations like DI providing great music to a niche market. IMHO the mountain of mass marketed populist garbage that regular commercial stations play isn't worth a cent of royalties anyway BAH *shakes fist at RIAA*

The Man has already destroyed radio. It seems they want anything they can get their hands on.

RIA is mostly focusing on the mainstream music rather than trance, house and techno, because obviously there is very little money there. But i do think they've gone too far. You cannot make millions of internet users to stop sharing files. Not unless you put a death penalty on it

That is a compelling argument supporting free filesharing. The only problem is that no matter how compelling that sounds, a couple million dollars in lobbying money can change your mind REAL fast.
****ing politicians. ****ing RIAA. ****ing greed.

The other video/song, though, I like how tongue-in-cheek he is through the whole thing. And he also made that song available as a free download from his website (I hear, anyway) which makes it even more awesome..

Ohh boy, what a direct reference to 2 lawsuits initiated by the RIAA ![]() Yep, love the sarcasm in that video. And providing it as a free download just puts icing on the cake ![]()

This article is kind of old as well but it provides an interesting look at the RIAA via artist Courtney Love. I don't think it was posted up elsewhere but if so, sorry.
