I will probably get Windows 7 in January after the holidays are over, I am going to buy a brand new hard drive and put it on there. I will be going 64bit.

I am running it now, have been for a couple weeks and I am just amazed at how fast it is, about the same as XP SP3 ran on this rig, couple older games have an occasional issue, but that is to be expected, running them in compatibility mode and they run fine. Folding At Home even finishes work units a bit quicker than they would under Vista SP2.
First O/S that this machine has been able to go into standby without getting a BSOD 95% of the time. Only one BSOD so far. ![]()

been running it since july. dad works with windows. and the BSOD issue happened every second boot up. half my software and games wouldnt work. there were some real issues. then a month before the public release all the bugs were fixed and it was perfect.
but i went back onto vista one day (dual boot) and it was SOOOOOO slow!) couldnt believe the speed difference

I wouldn't even bother condsidering it. After what Windows Vista did to me. I'm sticking with XP and 2000. I have both of those installed on two of my seperate computers.
Also, I have heard good things about it so I'm not saying bad things about it either. |

Clicky And that's nothing. I am using VMWare which is far superior. You can run VMWare Workstation on just about any OS. Get with the times people!!! I am running multiple operating systems in Win 7 and they aren't just Windows operating systems.
