If you paid 20GBP then it's fake.

I still use mine on a very regular basis, and I still love 'm very much.
If you're happy with it, fake or not, good for you!
Have fun.

Kind regards,
Hugo

OK, last weekend I went to check at the Media Markt. There they go at 199 Euro, and look very simular to the pair I own. I even took the liberty to take a close look at the inside of the earcup, here also no noticable difference. It showed the spiralspeaker in tough plastic. Just like the ones I own. The sounds is the same, pretty much bass driven.

I would never even pay 199 euro's for those headphones although I am very fond of mine. I even own two pairs now 1 to DJ with and the other one to keep at home when Fruityfreakin'.

So I hope this is enough info for the peeps who are doubting, I'd say fire up internet explorer go to Ebay and hook yourself up.

I too have a pair of v700s that I bought off eBay for just £20. I guessed they'd be something dodgy about them but I'm seriously impressed with what I got.

I haven't got a genuine pair of v700s to compare them against, so I'm only going from photos that I've found online & the various "genuine v fake" guides, but mine appear identical - all external markings & components seem to match. Also the sound quality is superb.

I can only assume they're either excellent copies or produced in the same factory (perhaps at night without Sony's knowledge & using internal components from cheaper Sony headphones?).

Either way, I'm well happy with them. They may not be genuine but they sound amazing & feel very well made, so for £20 you can't go wrong.

Got mine today...rather excited i must say...
On the invoice it said ...MDR V700DJ...
On the phones it said ...MDR Z700DJ...
Black bands, snap on adaptor, shitty feel that I didn't expect from sony
not happy
just glad Amazon have a guarantee in place for this sort of thing
but will miss the use of phones for a little while longer.

Check out dakmart .com for authorized sony stuff (I can't post the URL as I'm a noob to the boards and need 15+ posts). Authorized dealer for Sony, got 700's from here for a good price. Yes they are refurb, but extremely happy with my purchase.

Well I got a pair of these on eBay last year for about £20. They came in a little carry pouch for some reason and the sound on em was pretty good, but less than 12 months after I bought them, the plastic around one of the hinges cracked making them loose so they fall off and I'd hardly ever used them. I bodged them back together using a cable tie so I can still use em, but I know I have been ripped off.

Those counterfeiters are smart!
I should have known something was wrong when the writing on the box said "These are NOT fake"

I think it's possible that these are SONY headphones that have failed quality control that people are buying very cheaply and then selling them on eBay.

Actually...the V700's build quality is rather Italian... The real ones fall apart all the time too, so just because it fell apart doesn't mean it's fake.

This thread is full of amazing facts. It is amazing the helpful information people are sharing. Kudos to everyone on that. As for the cheap headphone I personally would not even purshase them since they are cheap. I find it amazing that people are still buying these. I have been bit by buying certain cheaper items for my setup. They seems good for a shorty time but usally only last a year, I have expierence this with amps and mixers. I find the money i spend on replacing the cheaper items was close to just but the quality product once. I am really impressed that somy actually gave two people real headphones after buying fake ones. I'm sure it took a lot of time, stress, and just a hassle, but damn thats a deal. Buy some fake one complain to sony, get the real ones.
