Default M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496?

Any of you guys have this card? I keep reading reviews and they're all great, but the damn thing is cheap as hell. I'm kind of on the verge of getting it, and it just seems fishy.

Default go for it.

I can sell you an old one for 250 bucks if you like, just to get the 'cheapness' out of it.
It's a good card and the reason it's cheap is because it has been around for a while (most newer cards now sport a higher (192) sample rate) and been produced in high numbers.
Nothing to worry, it's a classic but still kicking ass.

Only thing that looks fishy is they call it 4in/4out but it only has 4 analog sockets - i.e. it's 4 sockets that can be in or out, not both at once...

Thanks guy. I was comparing it and Audiophile 192, which seems to be another good one according to numerous reviews. But yeah, 2496 came out a while back and the price on it just fell as it got older. Still seems pretty solid like you guys mentioned. I dunno about the 4in/4out. It's like that everywhere too lol.

I started on the 2496 - worked fine for me to start off with.. and they're usually cheap as chips these days.
