Hey guys.
I got m-audio revolutions 7.1 installed about 2 months ago and haven't been able to get it to work. Here is what the face plate looks like: ![]() I had a 5.1 system running on it but only rear/sub or front/sub played, not simultaneously. Messed with the settings for about a week and couldn't get the damn thing to work. I can actually get it to record on both channels but it only plays out of 1. Can anybody recommend a simple computer speaker setup which would work with this thing?

lol come on man. You think i didn't do that
![]() I've done everything one could possibly do with the settings on m-audio. However, The 5.1 setup i had, had a signle output cable for front/back speakers and a separate for the sub. It looks like m-audio needs a separate output for rear and a separate for front speakers and in addition to that an output for the sub. This is where i'm stuck. I don't know which desktop setup out there comes this way.

I know some people who did not do it, so I thought I would start there. :-)
The way I read it in their manual, sub and center speaker share the same cable.

Arghh... this is frustrating. I don't think there is anything wrong with the SC either, but you'd think it'd work with all kinds of speaker configurations.
I guess this would be something i should be looking for? ![]() a separate output for each pair of rear/front speakers and one for the sub.

Strange the speakers are THX so it should be alright. Why don't you test your outputs. Set the sound card driver for 7.1 speaker system and then play something. The same signal should be coming out of each output. If that is not the case the problem is with the driver. Also play a DVD with 5.1 audio, make sure audio playback is set for 5.1 or 7.1 and chech the outputs again. There should be signal coming from front, rear and c/s.
Did you actually try it with the setup from the last picture?

Like you've mentioned, there should be a separate signal coming from front, rear and c/s. I was just wondering if i should be getting something with the same output configuration that's on that picture? Problem is i don't know which other systems come with the same outputs. As for the drivers... i've updated the drivers the same day i installed the sound card. Thanks.

It seems that in earlier designs (pre 7.1) you would have connected sub to output that was made specifically for sub. It is different on this card. On this card in 5.1 (and lower mode ?), sub is connected to the specific output. However, in 7.1 mode, this same output becomes shared by both sub and the center speaker (not center surround speakers, just one center speaker) at the same time. You will probably need splitter, it will have one male 3.5mm stereo mini plug to go into the card and the other end will split into two 3.5mm mini stereo jacks. I have one, I think, do you want me to post photo of it?
