I have an mp3 player that works fine except for the battery which is stone dead. It uses a cylindrical li-ion single cell, AA size, 3.7v 680mAh. Problem is I can't find a replacemnt anywhere. The closest I can find is a 3.7v 750mAh. Will that work?

Generally (depends on build quality from manufacturer) a bigger mAh should last longer.
as long as the volt rating is within the devices range it will work. That's when you are talking about the output from a mains transformer into your battery
