People who would call this trance dont know what trance is. Trance doesnt go over even 160 let alone this fast. Granted the music is trancier, but that is the way the music has evolved. Its still great. All music evolves. A few years ago, you wouldnt have even heard of any gabber with a triplet beat, but now its the norm.

I do love Breeze and Styles, and Force and Styles however their tracks do have a certain structure and I usually rely on a DJ to use their tracks as a tool in a mix, rather than a focus.
I know this is a portfolio/album of sorts of B&S's stuff, but its all too similar for my tastes, and it tends to grind about 40 minutes in. If you listen to Force and Styles stuff from 94-97 you can hear the progression in their production styles. It wouldn't have hurt to have had some remixes from other hardcore producers to spice up the mix a bit. Either way, I still love Force and Styles and Breeze and Styles! Ruairi |

Nice set, but i agree it is mostly a showcase of their music...good, but since it's by the same producers it has the same sound and loses it's excitement a bit...would of been nice to chuck in an odd track here and there.
Also loved alot off the stuff from force & styles alter ego's Sub-Ace & Aura on the UK Dance and UK Dance Extreme labels. |

happycore just evolving??? Where have you been the last 10 years?? IN the early 90's there already were some happy hardcore cds!! And this mix by B&S is just trance. The only thing different is the beat, which is a bit faster. I would not call this hardcore, and btw the vocals are very very irritating. Some real low qualtiy hardcore shit, I guess from the US. |

Most certainly im not. I just really hate happy hardcore, and the fact that most americans, including you, really do not know the differences between the sorts of dancemusic.

That's debatable though, they have been in the business around 10 years or so, seeing as they were a part of KniteForce, one of the original hardcore labels.
They've produced and remixed shedloads of other artists, been featured on compilations. Have a look and judge for yourself: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Force_-_Styles Ruairi |

THey have been in the business since 1995....
But hardcore originated in 1990 or so in the netherlands, that's where they played the first real hardcore, and, correct me if I'm wrong, most americans do not know this. THis is not bad ofcourse, but they seem to think that the happy hardcore mostly played on this channel is the "real hardcore". I get very sad when I see this, while the real hardcore is fast, hard, and mostly monotone. And I cannot remember I have ever heared this sort of hardcore on the hardcore channel here. I would love to see that all americans who think the hardcore channel plays real hardcore could visit only one once a THunderdome party in the Netherlands, and this will make their opinion change. |

I wouldn't agree. Hardcore is all the stuff you hear thats fast, aggressive and generally 4/4. Whether it be the "original" or the "real" hardcore, its all just hardcore.
Easy as that. If someone really cared about hardcore, they'd continue to explore subgenres. Ruairi |

I agree, keep evolving the music. But when I read; hardcore channel I expect hardcore, and that is not what I hear. It is indeed a subgenre, namely happy hardcore. As I said, I don't like happy hardcore, some people do, fine by me, but lets not play it on a hardcore channel, but create an new happy hardcore channel. IN that way everybody knows whats on and gets what he/she wants.

Not every American is oblivious, as I am sure not everyone from the Netherlands is as closeminded and judgemental as you. |
