A Clockwork Orange - 10/10
Kubrick is one really savage director. Photography is brilliant and Beethoven's music throughout was brilliant. Shocking that it isn't banned here in the States and only got an R rating.

as far as I know there are no films banned in US nationwide... why would Clockwork Orange be banned?

Watchmen 8/10
Obviously not same caliber as the comic but it was apparent it was made by people who loved the original story. Probably as good of a filmatization I could have hoped for. Wish Malin Akerman was a better actor though....

Quantum of Solace: 7.5/10
Not brilliant, but it's a decent action flick with some pretty cool stunts. I definately prefer Daniel Craig to ALL of the other Bonds. The other Bonds are pretty boys compared to him: they're womanizers who hardly get their hands dirty. |

^hey, welcome new guys!
anyway, Death Proof - 8/10, from Quinton Tarintino's Grindhouse films, it's got vibrant characters but the lengthy conversations that sometimes don't seem necessary can be annoying. if you like tarintino's style then you'll definitely like this movie. First Blood - 6/10, as a kid i was a rambo fanatic but i do'nt actually rememer seeing any of the movies. i'm sure i wasn't allowed to. so i finally got to see it on the AMC channel and it's just OK. i wonder if poor vietnam vets were really treated bad by civilians and town police. there was one part in the woods when the officers were chasing rambo and one officer ran into a trap of sharpened wooden stakes but i seriously doubt that rambo had the time to find stakes, sharpen them, and set up an elaborate trip-wire trap...

Ghost Town - 9/10 - This was entertaining but not as funny as it could have been. But I guess that's the style of Ricky Gervais - he makes you chuckle rather than laugh.
Bangkok Dangerous - 9/10 - I enjoyed this movie. Another assassin with a heart of gold who falls for a girl flick but the ending isn't as typical a hollywood ending.

Les Miserables (1998) Version
![]() 8/10 Its a great movie, good actors (except maybe for Uma who seemed out of place), great set design, certainly recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. But I suppose a story like that deserves something more grandiose... you know what I mean... its an epic drama that should have been up there with Gone with the Wind. Besides that I feel the ending was a bit Rushed.

Watchmen 7/10
Hmm now that I've never read the comic, I was watching this story for the first time. The film was quite long and after about half way through I wasn't sure if there was going to be any major plot line (the threat of nuclear war seemed to be building up but there wasn't much tension about it I felt). However reflecting back on it I thought it was a pretty good film. The effects were amazing (although perhaps a bit too much on slow mo effects despite how awesome they were), directing was good (like the love scene on their ship with the music of hallelujah was amusing), acting was good bar a few things (which I can't remember now) and most interestingly of all the ending was not very typical for Hollywood which was good. Just my opinion though ![]()

Slumdog Millionaire - 10/10 - I really liked the movie but to be honest, I think it was over hyped. I thought it was a good look at India and their slums and life as a commoner and what they have to do to survive, and it was entertaining the whole way through but I don't think it was the best movie of the year and deserving of so many awards. I did like the music and Frieda Pinto is super hot.

Tell No One - 9/10
A French Thriller (you have to watch it with subtitles... which is how I watch all movie anyway so its not a problem for me, but I suppose its a turn off for many people)... anyway... Great film and an interesting story, but i suppose its the story & character development that make this film great. From an unfortunate murder mystery it turns into a clusterf__k of events. I took of a point off because a very important event that happened prior to the beginning of the film was never mentioned until later in the movie. I suppose if it was something the main character knew nothing about, it would be reasonable, but everyone was well aware of it, including the police. This piece of information was only hidden from the viewer to make the movie more mysterious. I don't like that. In any thriller I would like to be presented with all the facts main character is aware of to do my own thinking.

Once Upon a Time in America 9/10 An Epic movie. Classic gangster film. Took of a point for editing, especially in the first hour or so. There were was no dialog till about 30 minutes into the movie and alot of long an unnecessary scenes. The film only picks about an hour into to. Which is not a big problem I suppose since its about 3 hours and 40 minutes long.
