Catch me if you can.
I've seen it at least a coupla times before and i still properly enjoyed it - what's not to love about a crook who gets all the money, cars, women, luxury and winds up the coppers too? easily my favourite spielberg film - and a great score too. if you havent seen it i thoroughly recommend it. 10/10 edit: and it's a true story! who said crime doesnt pay?

I forgot to post the last couple of movies I've seen... I'll try to remember them.
The Bourne Ultimatum 10/10 Good series and I enjoyed it a lot. The bonus features on the DVD were extensive and all worth watching (for a change). The shaky cam is alive and well unfortunately. The Bourne series is one of the worst offenders of all time for shaky cam nonsense. But thankfully I either got used to it as the movie went on or they toned it down. Nothing I hate more than not being able to see what the **** is happening on the screen. At least they don't couple shaky cam with MTV style edits like other lesser movies will. Robocop (in HD!!) 9/10 Still one of my favorite (newly discovered!) 80's movies. It looked great in HD and was awesomely uncut on basic cable during prime time (boobs, cussing, gore, all present). Stardust 10/10 I really liked this one! I'm a sucker for these types of movies and this one was really enjoyable. I gave it a perfect score, but it wasn't without flaws. Nevertheless, it's one I could own. My favorites were the comic relief the dead princes played in the movie. I loved how they would just provide running commentary on the movie and none of the characters had any idea. Also, the goat-man was hilarious.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas 9/10
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120669/ What keeps this movie cool is the script's total avoidance of any discussion of how awesome or trippy or amazing the trip is between the two main characters. Kudos to the scriptwriters for not being temtped, because that alone would have destroyed the movie.

El Orfanato 10/10
http://imdb.com/title/tt0464141/ The movie scared the crap outta me! Also, I spent most of the movie tense. Very good movie with an interesting plot. Loved that it was in Spanish. ![]()

Nothing To Lose
8/10 Classic night. Hilarious movie without a doubt! I am laughing for weeks and I'm glad I caught it on TV. Best scene ever, including Scatman! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1juqa7Njj7w May contain unsuitable language.

I Am Legend 8/10
I love the friendship of Will Smith and the dog. And the views of empty New York. It's one of the best movies of "mass epidemy with one hero who saves the world" type.

American Gangster.
![]() From no-nonsense director Ridley Scott comes one of the most truthful portrayals of crime and justice realised in over a decade. Not since the genre defining, 'Goodfellas,' has the focus of Hollywood scaled so close to 'home,' understanding and appreciating the importance of its sweeping drug history. Washington turns in yet another prized performance, where Crowe easily convinces as his opposite. By and large, it reserves its place as one of today's strongest motion pictures. - 9/10 ![]() |

Danny The Dog (also known as Unleashed) 9/10
One of the best movies i'v seen in a while. There are two sides to this movie...there's the kick ass martial arts action, just plain mad fights...and then there's the drama/romance bit of a guy who has lived quite litterally as a dog for almost his entire life and can't even remember what human life is like, and then finally returns to being a man. In Glasgow, Danny (Jet Li) is a young specialist in martial arts raised like a dog by his owner, the gangster and collector Bart (Bob Hoskins). When Bart unleashes his collar, Danny behaves like a savage animal, hurting and killing people as commanded by Bart. After an accident, the wounded Danny is lodged by the blind piano tuner Sam (Morgan Freeman) and his stepdaughter Victoria (Kerry Condon). They welcome him in the breast of their family, humanizing Danny, who feels attracted by music. But his past haunts him.

Unleashed was a real good movie. It was nice to see Jet Li show off some acting chops for a change.
Pirates of the Carribean 3: At The World's End 6/10 Low marks from a historically high scorer. I enjoyed this flick for the most part, and the 2.5 hour running time really didn't bother me too much as it went by fast enough. But from the start I was lost and it never really made a lot of sense. The visuals were pretty cool as usual but I just couldn't get with the story this time. I don't mind the humor, but the sillyness really just went a bit overboard. I think you'd have a better movie if it would just take itself a little more seriously. Also, Chow Yung Fat's character really needed to bust out some kung fu. What about the eternal ninja vs pirates debate? I was really disappointed with that whole part. Furthermore, how the hell was that not an R rated movie? I was disappointed.

and again agreed on American Gangster, 9/10 here too Eastern Promises 7/10 not the fast paced action flic I've expected (done no research beforehand) but more the tale of parallel worlds within the society I live in. Great acting by Viggo and Armin and convincing performance of Naomi Watts, portraying Anna the nurse who takes care of a baby born by a russian teenager that got trafficked and raped by a London based mobster. |

Eastern Promises
9/10 Great film. Very dark type of film with a great plot. Everything ends with a strange aura, it kind of left me stumped, yet satisfied. Thankfully i didn't expect anything from this movie, there was little hype going around which let me have no expectations.

You have to give the Aussies credit. They know how to make em'. And what's more, they are able to keep it as honest and as refreshing as cinema today should hope to be. And this is from a Kiwi, an Aussie rival right to the very end. The Jacobson family have captured quite seamlessly the spirit of Aussie blokes, and have through their incredibly insightful (and for some incredibly instinctive) cultural condition, managed to manufacture some of the most genuinely hilarious and heartfelt moments in movie-making. A remarkable feat! ![]() 9/10
