Eyes for the Profane
|
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
It was actually really really good.... I enjoyed the whole aspect of it, the plot, the screen play, the actors and actresses, the comedy was SPOT ON as well! A must see for sure. 8.8/10

88 Minutes starring Al Pacino
Let me first just say.. WOW... a great movie. I don't want to unveil too much, I will just say that I've made lots of movie criticisms on this board and all I can say is SUSPENSE THRILLER. Go see it, NOW. Seriously, what are you doing still reading this? Go see it, now. Get going. 10/10

The Mist 9.5/10
Best horror movie i'v seen in years! It is based on the book by Stephen King, though it's changed a bit. In a lot of reviews this movie gets a low score because of the end. However, i think those reviewers missed the point of this movie. Don't expect a movie version of King's book, the end has been changed which could disappoint you if you're expecting King's story. Though in my opinion, it's been changed in an absolutely brilliant way. And don't expect a typical crappy hollywood happy ending horror film. This movie actually scares instead of just being gross like Saw, Hostel, etc. Technically seen it's all good, the acting is good, the editing is good, and the sound and music is done quite well. The special effects are good and the creatures look scary. Though it's not as much about alien monsters as it is about human's ability to be the monster. You either love it or hate it, mostly based on what you are expecting story-wise. It's probably best if you haven't read the book, because it's so different from the book. It had me on the front of my seat till the last second, and the end will undoubtedly keep you thinking for a while. I say 9.5 out of 10. Best i'v seen in a long time.

We Own The Night
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0498399/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofrA8RkBDpk 6/10 Standard crime flick, which imo didnt explore its own plot setup enough, i.e. Phoenix's character chose the "right path" too early on, before his position as club owner forced tight decisions and situations upon him. It was just really predictable, I mean as soon as he teamed up with Wahlberg you knew what was to follow. Still, these are two brilliant actors and they gave solid performances. If you still want to watch it but only have 2 minutes and 26 seconds to spare, dont worry because "lol, they basically give you the whole movie in the trailer!" as one person on youtue puts it.

You Don't Mess With The Zohan
http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0960144/ Rating: 8.5/10 Pretty funny. Not at the point of hilarious, but still pretty funny. The whole plot centers around The Zohan (Adam Sandler), an Israeli counter-terrorist, and his move to America to restart his life and become a hairdresser. Along the way to his hairdressing dream there are a lot of funny little bits that reference to the conflict between Israel and Palestine (that whole concept actually plays a pretty big role in the film; it was surprising to see a director tackle that serious of a concept (especially in today's society) and manage to make it humorous). Rob Schneider plays a healthy role in the plot as a taxi driver who despises the Zohan, along with cameos from Mariah Carey, Kevin James, and John Mcenroe. Cons: I gave it a 8.5 because I felt that the plot was a little bogged down with too many pointless bits of humor. Given they are funny, they chop up the plotline and make it a tad difficult to follow. I would recommend this movie to anyone who was on the fence or just loves Adam Sandler in general. ![]() |

Rambo
7 out of 10. Mainly because it's got an alright story, but holy hell. Talk about gory nonstop action. Makes terminator 4 look like Driving with Ms. Daisy.
