What a great over the top mindless action movie. I thought it was very stylized, ultra violent, and ridiculous, but creative. The whole thing with the carrots was a funny gimmick, there were a lot of great one liners and sight gags, and Paul Giamati's bad guy was so over the top.

I watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno the other day. I thought it was pretty lame, a few funny moments but overall a terrible film. Seth Rogen's acting is pretty good though. 3/10

Most of the hype I heard about this movie was true. The Joker was a great performance, good action, good story. I loved his new motorcycle.

Cidade de Deus (City of God) 9/10

Brilliant film but scary as well as it's based on a real story. Excellent directing and the acting is very 'real' too and I believe they didn't hire any famous actors for the film, just local actors.

The Dark Knight - 7/10

i wanted to NOT like this movie and there were plenty of reasons not to, but i'll start with what i did like. "harvey dent" was i name i knew i recognized but i didn't know why until that scene in the hospital so that was cool. i especially liked the tale of the two ferries near the end. good message.

everything else in this movie was cheese but not the good sharp melty kind but the old moldy and smelly kind. HOW MANY TIMES CAN A GUY FALL OFF A BUILDING AND SURVIVE?! multiple times apparently without serious injury. did anyone clock the speed of that bat-mocycle? damn that must've been going all of its 15mph top fierce speed! the story was soooo long which normally i'd prefer with good stories but this felt so drawn out and the pacing was so attention-deficit-disorderlike and it wasn't just me that felt this way. my girlfriend left to do something else but i sat it through 'cause i have to know what happens. but i guess the story was so long that they had to cut scenes short leaving gaping plot holes like harvey's party in the bruce wayne penthouse, what happens after batman jumps out the window after katie holmes and onto a car? are we to assume the joker just calmly leaves the party without any care for the apartment full of partiers (potential hostages) and goons, or that batman also doesn't care that he left the crazy bad guy back in the apartment with all his guests? also why are the people in gotham so stupid? who guards the door of an interrigation room from the inside?? and why give a hostage-taker a phone call when the head shot is available with a distance no greater than 5 yards?! and it just got so old scene to scene with "everything's ok" to "oh no, the bad guy outsmarted us yet again"..... and the batman voice was annoying

at least it was better than Begins. and i definitely can't see heath ledger (sp?) behind the joker which means he acted his ass off. kudos. and a great opening scene.





The X-Files: I Want to Believe - 6/10

wow this was boring, and i'm an X-file-o-phile. surely this could have been condensed into an hour episode and it would have made sense. it's the same old same old mulder pursuing the paranormal and scully shyte-ing on his opinions. the best part of the movie was also the worst: no aliens (the positive being is wasn't ruined by aliens a la indiana jones)

haha, yeah, I also thought the batcycle was breaking all kinds of speed limits...for going too slow. But the thing was pretty badass so I didn't sweat that. Was that really Katie Holmes? I don't really see it, she's not aging well. Batman's voice was annoying, but after the first two hours of it, I forgot it was bugging me. I also agree about the weakness of letting the joker basically get away from prison/interrogation. People that crazy need to be treated a little differently than a common crook. Also, he gave several reasons why his face was all scarred. Do we ever learn why he's like that?

They Live - 9/10

Wonderful John Carpenter film staring Roddy Piper (scottish pro wrestler and Hulk Hogan's arch rival). He's actually a damn good actor. Aliens are taking over the world by brainwashing the humans with subliminal messages goading us into consumerism. Roddy Piper stumbles upon a resistance movement and with the help of special sunglasses he can see through the signals.

classic film. features the excellent line of: "I'm come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Role Models 9.5/10.
I thought the whole thing was funny, i would have given it 10/10 if it was as funny as super bad.

The Punisher (The new one) 5/10.
Everyone who saw the first one said this one was way better, but i thought the acting was the worst i've ever seen in a movie. The bad guy had the worst italian acting ever. Even the action i thought was cheesy gore. I think the end battle could have been made way better and more action pact.
