It was only called Spanish flu In the USA and that is how history recorded it. The epidemic started in the USA and was brought to Europe by American troops. 20% of the global population was affected. A popular rhyme at the time and when I was younger might yet be sung again.

I had a little bird,
Its name was Enza.
I opened the window,
And in-flu-enza.

Once again it’s more of the tried and tested “create the problem, profit from the solution” syndrome.

I haven't heard of reports of bird flu anywhere for a fair while now.

Good thing too I suppose.

There will be a cure in no time. Just wait and see, its going to be like the common flu, non of this bird in front of it.
crazy is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.

They have been giving birds injections against it for a couple of weeks already. But that wasn't in "no time", it's been out there for quite a while

Haven't really heard anything about it anymore either...
