It was only called Spanish flu In the USA and that is how history recorded it. The epidemic started in the USA and was brought to Europe by American troops. 20% of the global population was affected. A popular rhyme at the time and when I was younger might yet be sung again.
I had a little bird, Its name was Enza. I opened the window, And in-flu-enza. Once again it’s more of the tried and tested “create the problem, profit from the solution” syndrome.

i think the bird flu will eventually reach all corners of the globe, its on australias doorstep with indonesia infected. i think its a good thing that many governments are putting a lot of money into researching the deadly H5N1 strain, luckily australia doesnt import chicken or eggs
