What person came along and thought that we live in a single dimention, ie universe meaning one/single, shorly with todays theories most of us think in more than one dimention, ie Why don't we call it or them multiverses instead?

Of course we think in more than one dimension - we think in four dimensions. Sometimes as many as 25, with String Theory. It doesn't mean there's more than one Universe. Although I don't disagree with the possibility either.

I have just thought... If we discovered proven new "universes" and dimensions, would that not just simply RE-DEFINE the current idea of our single universe anyway... as opposed to add to it? Considering that the universe is thought of more as "everything there is" and that might not change.

![]() i know thats really mind boggling... but hear me out.... How could we have more than one infinite universe? Well if the initial conditions of the big bang were differnt than the universe would be a completely differnt universe than our own... at least thats the theory....

Okay for sure. I don't think I was disagreeing with that, but I think I was stumbling because of the gap there is, as Dee Jake noted, regarding what we should call the sum total.
Multiverse...or perhaps the supercosmos? You would need a formula as this idea goes on and on, once you've defined all conceivable or indeed inconceivable universes and dimensions as the supercosmos, some bright spark might rightly ask then why can't we have a collection of supercosmoses, call it a supersupercosmos, the formula allowing for a [super-to-the-power-of-infinity]cosmos? |

i guess that's akin to asking a string theorist what's smaller than a string - what are they made of...

I followed it up to understanding the seventh dimension... but didn't try any further just now. It seemed a clear explanation.
It's surprising how much of this I have already thought of without reading about it... (all of it so far...) although I have never assigned the order to my thoughts that this chap has on the matter because I have never put pen to paper on it. |

Maybe the more we explore, the more there is. I dunno, sounds infinite enough.

The key to explaining the mind-boggling part is accepting the theoretical concept of infinite beginnings different to the Big Bang... entering the eighth dimension and beyond. I didn't quite get entering the ninth but I kinda understood all of the video, and kinda agreed.
There is still no other concept than time involved... presumably that would facilitate the next fold. You could call what facilitates the next fold the "arbitary unimaginable concept" and that itself could repeat, but what else I don't know! There could be infinite different takes on what ten dimensions are but the video represents an acceptable proposal of one understandable take - just my opinion... Universe actually does not mean one/single it really means uni=one verse= word. In other words all things in "universe" are created by the word of one/the creator. So we can say there are multiverses out there.

that implies that we are god, or our collective consciousness
