I don't know about everyone but I don't like people know what I do for a living. Before anyone jumps to conclusions no its not pornography its something that pulled out at the last minute
![]() Anyways I constantly get asked what do you do? I just tell them I have an agreement with a person that I will complete certain skilled or arduous tasks in exchange for monetary or exchange of services. They usually don't ask after that. Some think I'm a dick for not telling them but I dislike having to discuss the intricacies of my work and who I've met or what I saw blown that day. Do you guys think its a big deal to know what everyone works as? (Yes, I know there's a lot of innuendos thats just the way I talk.) |

I don't see the problem. It's up to you to decide whether you want to tell something to someone.
So, what do you do? ![]()

No, but you can't blame people for trying to do small talk or for being interested in knowing what to do. If you don't feel like sharing, just don't. Unless it's your partner, I don't think most people will really care that you would rather not talk about it.

asking for your profession is just simply small talk. I don't think your problem is that people ask, it's that you don't want to tell them.
also, what do you do? ![]() (sorry, but you're begging for this question) and why exactly do you not want people to know about it?

Okay, you're either works as a man-slave, a butler, in a mensclub, in a BDSM dungeon or as a fixer/cleaner; big deal!
Picking up on lilacfairy's post, I feel it's mostly that you're still kinda uncomfortable about your job. I mean, there's a ton of bs excuses you could use for not telling any specifics about the people you work with (non-disclosure agreements being the easiest one). The industry you work in has a certain stigma, which you're afraid to bring onto yourself and on the other hand also peaks people their curiousity. Which ultimately gets us to the question... do you feel comfortable with the job you're doing? For what it's worth...you could always tell them that you work on one of those trucks inspecting or cleaning the sewer pipes. Nobody likes stories about poop and stuff like that.
