Energy vampires?

How do you guys deal with these people? I have a person i work with that just drains the life out of me when we meet up to discuss project plans and etc. If she's within 2 meters from me i am okay. But when she sits next to me, i instantly feel lightheaded, 'bong-happy' sensation if you know what i mean.

I've noticed this with others but i never had to work with any of them lol. What the heck do you do to protect yourself from this? I mean, i feel like crashing on the floor next to my desk and passing out every time after i meet up with this lady. It's ridiculous.

Google came back with a bunch of things, but i'd rather ask someone who actually knows a little bit about it.

yeah dude I know what you mean. I work with a few. they kill my mellow all the freaking time!
I recommend drinking some tea or coffee or maybe if she is cute imagine them naked!

Oh hell no dude. You don't want to imagine anybody naked in IT. That's like "elm street" type of nightmare. Screw that. You think coffee helps? That's like the easiest thing i can try.

theres a chemical that women have in their sweat glands that make men attracted to them
if you've ever seen a girl whos just ok looking, but then when you sit next to her she seems really hot
this is scent attraction at play.

Not just women, men have it too.

But more importantly...the stronger the attraction the more she's sweating...i'm not sure pheromones are all that great anymore

Of course. They still experience it the whole month...it's just that all their senses go mental once a month. It actually affects the menstrual cycle

erm, sorry bout that. I don't know to be honest. never met anyone like this. or maybe I have and have a natural defense mechanism. why is she getting to you so much? I mean, is there anything she is doing precisely? does she talk too much? are her thoughts overwhelmingly complex? is she demanding too much attention? is she very insecure and asks (subconsciously) for constant reassurance?

thinking about it - I know one girl who does that (the latter - she needs constant reassurance). It kind of drains me of energy as well, but I just don't give her the reassurance anymore. consequently, she stops asking me for reassurance and keeps away from me. probably because she thinks I don't like her. I really don't like her too much, so I don't care.

so maybe whatever that girl demands from you mentally, try to stop giving it to her.
