always a tricky one to define - it's starting to influence the experimantal end of EDM alot though - i've got recent Amon Tobin, Autechre, Aphex Twin, and Squarepusher stuff that borders on electro-acoustic.

Amon Tobin, Autechre, and Squarepusher, I always thought they were acid jazz, triphop and some chillout stuff. Amon Tobin has done some stuff that is drum n bass like. Aphex Twin, I always thought of as techno.

Yeah... I'll have to read into it more. although, what do you mean by the experimental end of EDM? I'm guessing it's a whole different style to it but I just heard it's where you can pick up your beats and start off the EDM you want to create...

I'm in the deep south of the U.S., isolated of EDM like what xyz's point of view...

Nothing but sweet DI linked to the internet to nurture me over.

Finally "found" it sometime in early 2005. Then after that, heh, it's like,

the absolute utter opposite of commercial predictable chart music. (though don't be confused, experimental can be commercial, or even chart - consider aphex twin for example...)

i had the fortune of living in Leeds, UK for about seven years - one of the true wells from which entirely original EDM sprouts forth and is a very exciting place to be (at least was when i was there - hope it hasn't changed...)

oddly enough, had one the highest geographical rates of drug use in Europe too. could there be a connection (chicken egg question though...)

nb: and before anyone get's upset, i don't think there's anything wrong with being commercial, predictable or charty - Felix "Don't You Want Me" is a great example of all three things yet is a great tune. you gotta love it all...

the power of the atom is scary, yet beatifull, is very hard to understad something we cant handle due to our inherently flawed etics

It was weird today In astronomy class we were watching this video about the solar system narrated by patrick stewart. The weird thing was throughout the whole movie, the album Tomita - The Planets was playing. It was weird because I actually knew who the artist was. The music was actually pretty good too. I mean my friend gave me a copy of Pictures at an exhibition and there were only a few tracks i really liked. This music for The planets was cool and trippy and it made for a relaxing morning
