They most definitely don't love trance...cause deadmaus and tiesto don't do trance (anymore)
![]() All joking aside, people say a lot of things to get attention. They clearly do not love trance, i doubt they even love those artists and i bet they will have forgotten all about them in a few months when the next big artist stands up.

i like trance
![]() i wouldnt say i love it but i do like a good trance songs it sounds like you have people striving to be different, they might not love trance, but they will say it to be different from everyone else ive had that before. i met a guy who claimed to love house but when i asked if he liked very common artists he didnt know them instead continued to talk about benny benassi with chris brown and david guetta but it could also be because they are misinformed. Like most people call all EDM techno.

For those who don't love trance... well... no one's perfect.
![]() Lol! In all seriousness, I'm ALL about the trance; vocal trance, melodic trance, uplifting trance, tech trance, hard trance (I'm also a trance DJ). It's my heart and soul and I could tout on for hours about it. I like other genres, but I don't claim to know diddly squat if I really have no knowledge of it. I think people just want to fit in and since trance is so big it's easy for them to "claim" that they like it, even though they couldn't name a REAL trance producer to save their life. If that's the case, I recommend a good album/mix to them and walk away. :P |

Nothing in mainstream pop these days is anything close to Trance. People don't even know what Trance is. It's one of those EDM genres that's completely left out these days and has been reduced to a second rate genre.
I was reading a recent article in USA Today talking about EDM. They gave a list of the major genres of EDM and a brief definition of each. Trance wasn't even listed. So, that right there shows Trance isn't even recognized by the mainstream.

I love trance, but I also love a little techno (the good techno), house, hardstyle (mostly old school), and even a little happy hardcore, too....As a whole, today's trance is not as impressive as the trance of old. Hell, today's trance (or what kids are calling trance, these days) isn't trance, it's more like girly vocal, housey, pop garbage...Euro Dance is so much better!

Armada trance is different from Recoverworld trance which is different from Subculture trance, and none of that is really what hardcore trance fans consider trance, which tends to be more along the lines of sort of fast, progressive, psy trance, if that makes sense. Progressive can mean a few things. By progressive I mean it doesn't really build a lot of tension like you tend to get with uplifting/epic trance. While this type of trance may be fairly near to the most "pure" trance, it bugs me that the hardcore trance folks act like it's the best, when it does not do the best job of evoking emotion (at least in me). Most psy that I've heard (I'm no connoisseur) tends to lack the melodic properties that I prefer to be present in trance. A modern example of what I consider to be a good compromise between psy and having melody is from the new Solarstone album, Pure. He's got a few 136 bpm or so instrumental tracks that have the psy buzz but a repetitive melody with a bass line that changes enough that it moves you.
As far as people saying that they like trance and have no real knowledge of it... I live in the USA. No one really says they love trance. Some people say they like techno, by which they usually mean trance. I wish I had the problem that you folks do.. hahaha. Well, that's my two cents about trance.
