Why should you feel sad, how about what makes you feel good? I'm not trying to knock your thread bro, it's just that this time of year brings people down and I would rather shed some light and wonder about what make everyone feel good in life because after all, life's too short to be down in the dumps. OK, I'm done hijacking here! What makes you sad???

The thought of having a girlfriend in Cardiff ... who phoned and said

Well, some of us actually have our own money.

Things that make me sad...sad movies. Old friends who weren't ever really friends. Ex-boyfriends. I can be quite moody at times. But really...I'm okay with it. Whether you're happy or sad, melancholy or mad...feeling means you've lived.

Not much, truth be told. But I generally buy my own toys all the same.

Something that makes me sad: the knowledge that while I can get very close to it via a writer's imagination...I'll never again be able to truly experience the magic of the innocence required to see entire worlds in the reflections in a rhinestone, as I did when I was six years old.

What kind of toys I'm kidding.

Doesn't the "It's better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all" mentality apply in this case. At least you had it once, and you can remember having it.

Alas, that is a discussion not suited for a public audience.

It does, and I'm happy to have the memories. But I'm getting ready to try my hand at children's literature, and I'm trying to remember what it felt like to be six years old. Six was a good age.

I see. Since it's not a discussion that is suitable for public consumption, that's tells me all I need to know.

Oh well, if you don't know what it's like, I'm not going to tell you. Now where's my blankie and pooh bear?

It might not necessarily be what you think it is. It rarely is when it comes to me.

I do know what it's like. I'm just a little fuzzy on some of the details. :P

you obviously havent read my story in the short stories forum "Dream Nexus". Theres proof that you don't need to be a child to come up with a really imaginative world. Tap into your childhood memories, act like a child, meditate, distort yourself from reality and tap into that part of your subconcious that is your true imagination.
Or instead of trying to go back to the magical world in your head when your six, create a new one that fits your new age.
If you already had fun, why go back, theres tons of fantastic worlds you cant even comprehend yet

Any progress with that, Bubblewrap?

That's the kind of story that I don't get bored of.
