i prefer the sound of a ferrari engine.
when the person knows how to drive it, like rev to change gears, get the gearing right and not leave it in a low gear just to hear her go.
but the worst part is hearing the car going slow, it sounds so sad.

If you have a 355, a Challenge Stradale or an F40 in mind...yeah...absolutely awesome. I wish Ferrari still made proper cars instead of the crap they make now.

But to me nothing will ever beat the sound of the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640. The howl when you start it up. That short blip of gas before it cuts down to idle. You can hear every drop of fuel and feel every cylinder as they come together, ready to launch you forward more aggressively than you could have ever dreamed of. Even when idle it just screams get out of my way! As soon as you put your right foot down that aggressive rumble changes to an even more threatening sound that wants to do nothing but swell and go higher and higher. And if you have the guts to keep your right foot down up to and beyond 3500rpm things start to change. A new tone is added to the mix. A low, bassy sound that reminds me of a chello. It doesn't last long though.

Keep your foot down beyond the 5000rpm point and all hell breaks loose. The low bassy sound makes room for a high pitched wooden howl. The transmission starts to scream and if it's a warm day the air vents open up. As it climbs up through the revs the sound keeps going higher and higher, and every time you think it can not get any better, it does just that. Afraid of the rev limiter yet confident that the tachometer doesn't lie you push further and further, all the way up to 8000rpm.

At this point you have to decide, shift right now at the ideal point and start all over again in the next gear, or push through all the way to it's 8500rpm rev limit just to hear that beautiful engine sing a little longer, but risk hitting that ever so harsh rev limiter. And it's in that very last moment before having no choice other than to shift up, right before hitting the 8500rpm limit, that yet another sound emerges from the monster that lurks behind you. Just briefly, but ever so present is a sound that can not be described with words. A sharp, snare like sound that you just have to experience to understand.

As you go into second gear for a split second you realise you're already breaking the speed limit, but as soon as the gear clicks into place and the engine gives a confident shout that it is ready to push further you forget all about the speed limit and you just want to go on. If you repeat this a few times, the chello-like sound, the wooden howl, the transmission screaming for more, suddenly a belt sander like sound tells you the air vents are wide open. You can hear the air being sucked into the engine. The car is telling you it wants more. Keep racing around in the lower gears and it'll stay just like that. But push through to the higher gears and everything changes again.

The air vents go back down for better aerodynamics, the belt sander sound fades away and speed alone forces enough air in to keep the engine happy. And then it hits you. The car is ready for something the manufacturer doesn't even admit it can do. As you shift to 6th gear and see the speedo climbing above 300km/h you remember the 340km/h top speed claim from the brochure. But as you approach that top speed something strange happens. The acceleration doesn't stop at 340km/h. It goes on. 343, 46, 48, 350, 52, 53. Whereas your heart was racing just as fast as the engine moments ago, your heartbeat now slows down. 354, 355. As the world flashes by and the acceleration slows down, the harmony of the engine screaming behind you, the transmission whining beside you and the sun flashing through the trees puts you in a surreal state of peace. 356, 57. After a while you start to wonder what that light in the corner of your eye is, and when you finally scrape together enough courage to take your eyes off the road and look at the light you realise you burned through another 100 liters of fuel already. And that, makes me sad. Not because petrol is so expensive nowadays. But because i have to slow down and leave my surreal state to find a gas station so i can start again.

From the very first car Ferrucio Lamborghini built in 1963, the 280hp strong 350GT, up to the latest 670hp strong 2009 Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce, the same formula-1 inspired quad-cam V12 engine powered almost all the lamborghini models. Over the years it almost doubled in size and lost it's weber carburettors to make place for electronic fuel injection, but deep inside it is still the same engine created over 40 years ago. And that my friends, you can still hear and feel today.

What makes me sad? Having been so sad in the past that while really great things are happening for me, I'm still feeling sad. Even though I am not. I'm rather the opposite. But my mind is feeding sadness to my soul.

Then it's time you understand why.

I've been trying to figure out why. If I could ... oh don't tell me that it is the most logical thing... because I have to let myself... and that I'm not, is causing this?

Too many pauses in that sentence to make any sense to me, but I guess yes

This first pause was an actual halt in my mind. It was like a giant red stop sign. The third pause you should be able to guess.

What makes me sad? Under-estimating life's ability to screw things up.

Should I then be happy that I know just how much life has screwed me up, and that I expect it could somehow screw me up even more?

Good luck on screwing things up even more though, Mr. Life.

So let me get this straight,
I grind and make you fresh coffee, I make you breakfast, I wash the dishes, I just ordered you a $400 Roomba for Christmas and here I am asking you to behave at a friends dinner party.
.
.
.
I must be the dumbest white boy on the planet.
I'm not sad....I'm supremely unhappy and very disappointed at my self.
