What is your favorite theory about the cell organelle--mitochondria?

as what the general concense i think that the most probable symbiosis, that happened eons ago, and ended in what we know as an eucharitic cell today

I figures since this is the science section most people would be knowledgable about this. My apologies for the inconvienence.

well i suggest that u google some mitochondria theories then post them in here to make some conversation...i myself am very interested in mitochondria(is there a shorter form of the word?) i believe that "mitos" hold key information about everything, especially how the universe was formed, and where its going.

wtf have mitochondria, a biological cell component got to do with the formation of the universe? unless you're going to start suggesting that due to some weird panspermia, these little structures resulted in life on earth developing from something that was linked to the beginnings of everything we know?

wtf.... alright dude, mitochondria are the building blocks of DNA witch are the building blocks for all of life....now how the hell does that not have to do with the begining of things, and its not some sort of f*ckin conspiracy theory, its a hypothesis, well more like a suspicion. why is it so abstract to think that these things might hold key information, considering we know so little about them except that they are self suffcient life forms, dont u think that the little things that are contained in every single cell in your body more may have a little more to do than just YOU. these little life forms are the scientific form of "Chi", if i cared enough to prove to u, id find a link to back everything im saying, but ill let u do the research.

they may not have been involved in how the UNIVERSE was formed but they are certainly part of how life started on earth, so try to have a little imagination, it wasn't that far of leap to make that the universe, who the f*ck knows hows the universe was created, im just saying that these little things are very mysterious (at least to me) so putting in some meaning into them seemed liek a good idea. hell why not have dark matter as super condenced mitochondria dna it would be a lot more interesting to have a living life form eating everything in the universe, than gravity doing all the work.....

i can't even tell if you have no grip on science, have too much drugs, are some kind of religious nut, are trying to wrap science in spirituality or just one of those weirdos who writes utter nonsense...

intelligent debate? you're spouting utter bollocks! where on earth are your "backed up statements"? and anything that is a different opinion to yours is narrow minded? then how do you expect to have an intelligent debate?

"boohoo i'm being harassed because people are laughing at my idiocy..."

WTF? i cant have an intelligent debate when all thats being debated is my sanity and not the subject, your obviously not seeing where im coming from, and i can now see that your more interested in the matter of how much u can try to degrade me than trying to dissprove my THEORIES. and im not saying that anything other than my opinion is narrow minded, im looking for other opinions, but im not looking for some assholes idea of how stupid i am, if u want to get your point acrossed then simply explain to me, and not explain why i am so ****ing wrong and why my ideas are so retarded... anyways i can see this is leading nowhere there is no intelligent debate to be had, cuz i need an inteligent person to be on the other side, so i guess this conversation will be had elsewhere

if you wanted intelligent debate in the "science and technology" forum, try expressing some knowledge of science and/or technology - these "theories" of which you speak are bound to get treated with derision if you don't support them with any kind of further explanation other than fanciful nonsense. you're not in ther "fun and games" or "creative writing" forums so naturally people are going to have reasons to disagree with your ideas if they don't fit in - if you can't take criticism then instead of getting all upset, try thinking a little before you type...

The etymology of the word (its derivation) is from Greek mitos (thread) and khondrion (little granule), http://cc.msnscache.com/cache.aspx?q...-US&FORM=CVRE2 to quote where I relearnt that (I vaguely remember it now having looked it up)
