I would agree. The whole "equality" movement pretty much took a dump on chivalry and choked it to death. I guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If he opens a door that's seen as being a sexist pig. If he doesn't he's a jerk. We just can't win.

I'd agree with this. Everyone is so uptight these days that often times being chivalrous completely backfires. But at least the effort was made...

I'll be damned what some feminazi says about it. I open doors for people, because its courteous (and because work has me trained like a chimp). I'm polite to women, and try not to scratch my sack too frequently in front of them, but thats just manners.

Of course I don't obey all the rules, I don't allways walk between the girl I'm with, and the road, nor do I go first down the stairs on purpous. I do, however, allways go after a lady when going up a ladder, but thats just because I'm depraved.

I'd like it if the rest of the world was a bit more consciderate, and if my holding the door open for someone isn't appreciated, then forget them. Karma trumps all.

I think over the last decade or so, womens expectations have gone through the roof, I feel they dont know what they want anymore. We males have certainly been demoted to the bottom of the food chain. and we seem to get the blame for everything that goes wrong in society today ( just my take on things I could be wrong but justtake a good look around you)

I don't think chivalry is dead. It's just very very rare... It may not exist in that over-the-top, drop to one knee, and kiss a woman's hand way, but it's there.

Chivalry didn't die. In a bitter sort of irony, it's been co-opted by the most sexist and misogynistic men around, in much the same way the gay community absorbed the most masculine names like Butch and Lance, and the african-american community reclaimed the word "******" to mean something of repute and respect now (but only to each other).

Thus, a generation of chivalric Smoove B's is born, aka The Player, the Pimp, who worships the ground women walk on, buys them expensive things, invites them to fine restaurants, and showers them with gifts, praise, flowers, and the delicate things in life, all in the name of sexual conquest.
