All are waiting for this UFC 64: The Unstoppable! Who do you think will win the fight between Franklin and Silva? For me I guess Silva can pull the win over Franklin.

I've never seen Ryan Franklin fight so I don't know what he can do. But Silvia is awesome and Franklin is a dick so I'm putting my bet on Silva.

I'm going with, Rich Franklin over Silva.
Silva may be a respected and established mixed martial artist but I have to agree with some (including Rich Franklin) that he isn't really deserving for a UFC title shot, only his second fight in the UFC octagon. Debuting and defeating Chris Leben is not a viable ticket to a title shot, nothing against Leben, it all has to do with gaining your spot within the company, not coming in with an outside record. You should fight your way through the ranks, and earn the shot for a company's championship from within the company.
Slightly offbase here, I fear this is something that might happen with the heavyweight division where contenders will be brought in from outside the company to challenge, sadly. Hopefully I'm mistaken. However, on second thought if it means getting the title off Tim Silvia... *drifts off in thought* ...maybe it's not soo bad.

Personally I don't really care for the lightweight division at the moment, or feel anyone deserves the title. Although in the back of my mind I feel maybe someone having the title is what is needed to get the division going and the fighters to grow on the audience/me. Sadly I think Florian is going to win, but I'm rooting against him, yet not entirely rooting for Sherk.

Well you have a point there! You just elaborate well the techniques of your fighter! Nice One!
But for me I will stick to my fighter Silva! He can make it over Franklin!

I also thought it was extremely weak that he gets a title shot with almost no effort.

Saw the fights. . .I dont understand why franklin stood up against him. 30 sec into the fight you could already tell he was intimidated by silva because he wasnt reacting the same way the other 22 fighters franklin beat.

When was the last time Franklin even had a fight? I'm only a new UFC fan, but I haven't heard of any match involving him for quite some time. I guess my point is that I think he got used to being a champ and might have gotten lazy.

March, at UFC 58, where he fought David Loiseau. In that fight he broke his left hand and this was his first fight coming off the injury.

Well if you consider Loiseau's head as by, then yeah

Supposedly it happened early in the second round, Franklin thinks it happened on a punch that caught the top of Loiseau's head. It required surgery, seven screws and a metal plate. Franklin also broke his foot in that fight too, I guess.

Yes, he won by unanimous decision... meaning he basically fought another fifteen minutes with the broken hand.

To my knowledge he hasn't said anything negatively about Anderson Silva both leading up to and following the fight. He was very humble and assured fans he would work his way back up the ranks.

damn, he trully deserved that unanimous win. . .Nother reason why I like franklin, on interviews he never tried leaning back on his injuries prior to the silva fight.

Thanks for the info, I knew he was beat up from the fight just by the interviews i've seen but i never knew the extent of it. On another note, do you watch every PPV?
