Is there an official Trance Top 40?

I was wondering, if there's any TV/radio stations that actually collate a trance top 40? I know that there are various dance and r&b charts, but I've never heard of a trance one.

If not, it seems a shame that trance has become such a popular form of music, but nobody seems to be promoting it.

Would it not be possible to do something similar here on DI by basing the results on the votes that people cast for individual tracks? I know that this would have to be a chart based on a tracks' popularity, not sales, but at least it would give us something more substantial to refer to other than the lame "What's ur favourite track" threads.

just wanted to clear out one thing ... Next Exit is not from Gremany like said in Flashstone's link ! he is my friend and he is from israel ! but maby its like the lable or something !

and about Euphonic ... again the lable thing , maby they mean just the lable but does Euphnic r from israel cause i didnt knew nothing about that (:

Hm, Germany, Netherland and England make the best tracks...Not a single track from the US? Why is that? Wrong chart?

Germany 32, Netherlands 22, England 14, Sweden 9, Switzerland 6, Belgium 6, Denmark 3, Finland 2, Italy 2, France 1, Israel 1 and 2 are blanco

i hope, that there will never be a "official trance top 40 chart". this might be the death of trance.

please charts, stay away from our "trance-thingy"! don't commercialize our music! let it, as it is! only for us trance-addicts.

The ID&T dance chart (top 40) at www.id-t.com is good too.

Now does anyone know a chart for mixes? I'm not a big fan of listening to trance song by song.

there's a bunch of good sites, where the best tracks can be taken. the above one's for example.

i only wanted to say, that the "official music-industry" should stay away with a trance-chart. i don't want to be told, what i or others "should" hear. a good tracks makes it way anyhow. listen to new mixes of wellknown or unknown dj's. they always play, what the crowd likes.

In Germany you have the German Dance Charts (short: "DDC" for "Deutsche Dance Charts") There you find any kind of electronic music. Some of it sounds nearly like pop, other like hardtrance.

In europe, commercialization of electronic music already begun years ago.

Yeh I agree that if there was an 'official' trance chart that would ruin the industry.

I just wanted to know what the best places were to get info on which tracks other people are really into at the moment. I don't think anyone really cares what the No. 1 track is in trance at the moment, as everyone has their own favourites.

I guess a trance chart would be different from a lot of other genres anyway - if a track is really popular it tends to stay that way, and could end up topping the charts for months.
