Do you think you may have it
you know where you hear a sound and you think of a color tone

I cant be sure whether or not i have it, I know i have the uncanny ability to taste music, like when i listen to psy I imagine chewing on something that isnt their. or have you ever noticed how numbers look like facial expressions, 4's look confused 6's look nervous 7's look moody or angry and 9's look like their smiling.
lets see, yeah i notice letters bring up colors but they come more apparent when in nouns, it doesnt really strike on the surface level of thought but i know its there.
have you ever thought you might have this

yes. Purple and yellow have a similar sound i think.

they have that string bass sound, or that snare sound like Vast Vision - Summer Blush has.

atleast when i hear that sound i think purple or yellow.

I notice numbers have colors
1 is red
2 and 4 are blue
5 is orange
3 is yellow
8 is purple
but its different for everyone

Yeah, numbers, days of the weeks, months of the year, letters and words have colors for me

Never experienced anything like that. What usually happens to me when i hear a song, is another song randomly pops in my head and i realize i can just possibly blend those two tracks when i get home.

Wow... I've heard about it while watching House last but.. reading bout people who've actually experienced it in this topic... must say it's quite trippy! Anybody know of any aids to experience synesthesia (if there are any?)

I'm finding that in my aural training class, note intervals seem to have certain colors with them. Hehe, sure helps with listening and writing down what notes I hear

Minor 2nd - Red
Minor 3rd - Blue
Perfect 5th - Very dim Yellow, sometimes too dim so I get those wrong
Minor 7th - Gray

exactly the same for me! for myself, songs have specific "colours"... i notice when i DJ i usually play songs of similar "colours" and realized i was mostly mixing in key, lol... i never thought much of it until i read wat it was a few years ago.

But I heard it's much more common than you'd think, because a lot of people don't realize they have it (implicit synesthesia).

Also heard of it, but I don't have it either. Though psy may not be the best thing to try test if you have it. Very easy to get lost and trip out with psy. You'd see things if you have it or not.

The number 9 is blue to me. To be exact, the kind of blue i used in my avatar to the left

And yes, i do think of colors when hearing certain tones.

i have done this for a long time, but never knew the name of it was "synthesia"

i also dont think of colors i think of Tones as in how its coming off. Say a bad tone, happy tone etc, just like words, if it sounds bad it most likely is bad.

When i hear songs, i think up of a music video for it in my head all the time also.

I think I have it for numbers and number ranges. But it's nothing really complex, and some numbers I don't feel colors for just "tones"

1 feels white/red to me

2 feels like the color yellow. Thus, I hate the number 2 as I do not like yellow.

3 is red/orange

4+5 is closer to blue, but not too clear

6 is green, one of my favorite numbers and colors

7 is DEFINATLY purple. My favorite number, and also one of my favorite colors

8 = brown

etc...

Some numbers are stronger than others (7 and 2 for example. I don't have a very strong colorization for stuff like 4/5, that depends on my mood).

I also see number ranges in light/dark values.

Numbers like 1-10, 10 is dark while 1 would be light.

From 1 to 100 I see the later numbers as being "darker", "spaced" and "shaded" almost (well, not literally "see" but I feel this in a personified way almost), while numbers closer to the beginning of the spectrum are "brighter" and more "open" to me.

LSD has been known to induce these kind of effects
other than that i dont know
But for me it was really powerful
I remember biting into an ice cream sandwich on LSA one time and immediately thinking of stars and galaxies
but i think you might be able to do it with some mental training though, i'm not sure if its something your born with or a skill you aquire

A lot of the time when I hear songs I will think of certain seasons, but I have never had any experience with seeing a number and thinking of a color. That seems pretty cool though, math class would be so much more interesting.
