Winamp 2.91

Just wanted to let any Winamp users out there that 2.91 is out now. I was just browsing the site and noticed the released on 4-17-2003 date

Thanks. ^_^ I caught the 2.90 release by myself, but I didn't think there would be a new version coming out so quickly. Looks like they fixed some things:

ive been using winamp 2.80 forever now.. does it really matter? i have no problems ever, so I dont see a need in switching. any reason why i should :? (i only use playlist, main window, and equilizer, as seen in http://members.rogers.com/celestial214/desktop.jpg bottom right)

Yep never had a single problem with 2.81 maybe if im bored i'll check out the 2.91 or whatever.

yeah, but if it picks up the schuffle where it left off i might try it out... If for no other reason than i keep all my files in one enormous play list... and whenever i restart the beast i find that i continue to hear the same handfull of songs non stop...

What is everyone's feelings on winamp 3.x?

Why are they updating version 2.xx when they still have version 3.xx out, I have both installed on my systems and 2.81 is the best for me, does the job and I can connect to the DI streams with no problems and the playlists are displayed properly.

3.xx is RUBBISH, download it if you want something that's slow, looks aweful and messes up your DI stream...

UUUUUUUUU nice a 2.91. dat's sweet. i will d/l it now. BTW iam using 2.81 and its like perfect..so can you use skins from 2.81 to 2.91. If you cant then **** it iam not using 2.91 since i got like a xillian skins for 2.81.

BTW 3.0 is a total failure. It may look sweet outside but its a failuire.

Yeah Winamp 3.x is trash. I had it for about 2 days and it was sooo slow and crappy that I just got rid of it.

Well... i cant stream DI at home (dial up... yay)... so i just use Windows Media Player at the campus labs... I get in here early, bump di for way to long, piss people off with the incessent beeps that come out of the headphones (well, thats what happens when they're set to ultimate Bumpitude) and just catch up on homework... or write menacing letters to congressment...

But yeah... WinAmp 3 sounds like a hunka crap, and untill they can get their acts together withit i will stay faithfull to my old school WA 2.7 (or whatever im on...)

Winamp 3.x was never really a finished product, and from what I understand, not much further development is really planned for it. Many features like those related to streaming audio aren't yet supported in it, even using their own tools. Stick to 2.x (although it looks like you already figured that one out...).

i hated winamp 3.. as previously stated it takes forever to load, is slow, and dont like the changes.

winamp 2x is for me! even though windows media player is growing on me alot.

yupppp still on 2.81, haven't had a need to change ..
winamp3 skins are pretty, but functionality...not quite the same to me.

i think i tried 2.9 at some point; not sure. all i remember is that for some reason when i tried to sort by 'path and filename' it messed up ..

Uhg... If it isn't the oldschool WMP then i cant handle it... i don't know why...

Actually i do... for the same reason i hate the default XP style... i hate bubbly useless fluffy crap (which is why i have made sure that my desktop on every computer i've ever owned is the exact same style... Cool, blue, soothing, minimalist...

But thats me... and i get angry at squeeze on mayonaise...

I don't like Winamp 3 much, so I stick with 2.x

I'm glad to see some improvements. Also, they've addd the playlist library feature that was only available in Winamp 3 to Winamp 2.91, so that's a welcome addition!
