Default Technics RPDH-1200 vs. Pioneer HDJ1000 - COMFORT!

I know the superiority of these two headphones has been debated down into the ground, but there's one thing I didn't get a clear answer of. I have a pair of Sony V700DJ's right now, and I seriously can't stand them anymore because they are so dang uncomfortable. So now, my biggest concern about buying my next pair of headphones is the comfort factor. It seems that more people prefer the 1200's over the 1000's for sound quality, but if the 1200's aren't as comfortable then I'll have to pass them up. If anybody could please answer this question, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

after recently trying both, and being the owner of the HDJ1000's, i've come to the conclusion that the pioneers are superior.
i find them to be super comfy and the size isn't too overwhelming on you're head

imo the sound quality is better in them as well

unfortunately mine broke 2 days ago, falling at 50 km/h at -25C

There is no clear answer,, it all depeands on size and shape of your head.

Are there any retail stores that sell both of these headphones? I really wish I could try 'em out... I really just want them to be more comfortable than the 700DJ's. That hard lining around the earpiece is literally giving my ears bruises.

That sucks.. did you ask them if either will be available any time soon? Try searching for other local shops?

I own both pair of headphones, and for me personally, the Technics RPDH-1200 is more comfortable. The cups seem to fit the ear a little better. The sound quality is not as good as the pioneers, but still GREAT.

They should be able to order some for you if you really want them. Try printing out a cheap price you find online and let them pricematch it. I bought most of my equipment this way from them.

for sound quallity....

go for the technic rpdh 1200.

for comfort go for the pioneer - hdj 1000

for value for money gor for the - technic rpdh 1200

p.s the pioneers break far to easily.....i love my new technic headphones

I completely forgot about them matching internet prices... Thanks GT!

Sorry for the double post... but would anybody in here like to purchase my MDR-V700DJ's? They're in absolute perfect condition! I posted it in the Buy/Sell forum, but there's only like one other post in there... not sure how popular it is.

I've owned both and even if you take out the fact my Pioneers broke (which seem to be VERY common), the Technic's still are my favorite. Same sound and more comfortable. The Pioneer's were never comfortable to me. Seemed to "tight" around my noggin. Tech > pioneer > sony

I've used my technics headphones for over a year and they're still just like new. They're very comfy, but like was mentioned before, it does depend on the size and shape of your head.

I can't spend more than an hour in headphones without feeling some sort of discomfort... regardless of the headphones themselves... but yeah technics are a beast, I just got a new pair of RPDHs only because my dog chewed up my old pair which lasted me for two years and probably more ... if it wasn't for the dog
