Hardest Boss Battles

What are the hardest bosses you've had to face?

I think one of the hardest bosses I had to beat was the final series of bosses in Sonic 2, in the Death Egg stage. It's a series of two battles; the first one is against Metal Sonic and the final one is against Dr. Robotnik. I had a hard time with these bosses because you don't get any rings, and because one mistake could cost you the game. It was especially annoying when I died in the second boss and had to do everything all over again

Another tough battle was the one against the final Queen Leech in Resident Evil 0. The point is to keep the leech away from Rebecca while she opens the hangar, but I always ran out of ammo or got plowed down by the leech. It took me a long time to figure it out...

Red Faction 2 are all difficult and at times seem like the AI is perfect. the final boss tho that has 2 parts - rediculous. you basically run out of ammo for anything good left to use on the robot suit. once the life bar goes down he exits and instantaneously shoots a rail gun shot at you(one hit kill) which gets you most the time. if not then just move all over to dodge but still gotta be aiming to kill him. rediculous!

Armored Core 3 final boss I mentioned in hardest games thread.

Oh yeah, any of the bosses in Turok 1 & 2. I'm sure the others games too. I remember renting the first Turok..my brother and me needed cheats to beat bosses that still, took forever ;O The ones in Turok 2 took just as long to beat with even the strongest gun. I'd pay to see someone beat them normally.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter...took us 14 hours with 6 people to get it down. Mind though, that you can get it down in a matter of minutes if you jump through some hoops to activate an electrocution device...otherwise it will just regenerate some health each time... But each regeneration cycle it would regenerate a tiny bit less than it was damaged, so at one point it got low enough to kill the basterd with the 6 of us shooting a cannonball at it simultaniously right before it would regenerate...

did lots of fun stuff with the 6 of us...mega rocket jumping and stuff

Sounds like the game has online co-op..?

last battle in xenogears, i still havn't finished that game and i havn't attempted in many years.. one of my favorites though

best playmode for the game imo...only way to get through Serious mode in a reasonable amount of deaths

Mental mode is indeed...mental...makes all enimie's visibility fade in and out...kinda hard if you can't see your enemies half the time...even online with a whole group it's pretty damn insane

thats pretty cool! mental mode sounds like it would result in broken keyboard and mouse ;p How many people can do co-op at once? I wish more games had online co-op.

Don't know anymore...We always played with 8...but the game was capable of many more

Nitrous Oxide in Crash Team Racing in the time trials!

The only track I can beat him on is his home track! Damn CTR is a pretty hard game. Though Adventure mode isn't too bad. Somehow It says I've completed it 101%! hmmm.....

Hardest boss i've ever fought in a game: Freya from Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time

took me about 45 minutes to kill her.. she has about 20-40million hp...

not really a boss, but

the donut land 4 level in super mario kart. maybe i could do it now (i was a little kid when i played the game), but it was truly very hard back then.

turok 2 bosses are somewhat hard, like someone mentioned earlier, but beating them is very rewarding. i was having fun with that game until a faulty memory card screwed up some of my data. now i have no time to get back into it.

but i think f-zero gx (the gamecube version) has some of the hardest bosses/levels. if you try story mode you will see what i mean. i have beaten all the levels on normal, but on hard or very hard some of them seem near impossible. i can remember one level where you collect boost after boost through this insane obstacle course (with doors closing in on you at the last second) at really high speeds, and if you so much as scrape against something, you will miss the final jump out of the level. it took me about 6 hours to beat this one level on hard.
