Thumbs up Tekken 6

Has anyone else got it? i got it a week or so ago and overall i think its pretty good however some charactors are a bit overpowered, the rage system i think works well and i like the campaign mode

however the online mode is PAINFULLY laggy and unresponsive at times. (namco is working on a patch to rectify this due to everyone being pissed at them)

thoughts?

i got Eddy lookin like a disco supafly

Great game. Yoshimitsu, Zafina, Lili, and Marduk are my primary characters.

I'm not so sure I like the "bound" system, though. The problem with it is that, once someone starts to juggle you, you're pretty much done for. It can make for a very frustrating experience, especially if you're playing against people that abuse it. The least namco could have done to balance it out would have been to add an escape system that allowed you to break away from juggle strings. The rage system can be frustrating, too - though it can allow for some upsetting come-from-behind wins, it can also be frustrating in the hands of abusive players. Other than that, it's a great game. Namco sure did a great job adding variety to the number of items available for customization (I've seen some characters that are customized beyond recognition). I also like the arenas, and the sheer number of characters that are available (I hope they don't cut any characters in Tekken 7, when it comes out). My favorite arenas are Fiesta del Tomate and Hidden Retreat (gotta love the yodeling).

played a good amount last weekend with a group of friends - good action for a party game. kept us occupied for hours.

we did feel some character combinations are very one-sided. for instance some of the faster characters will totally demolish the slower ones.

I agree they ramped up the juggle damage... they could have implemented air control like in Soul Calibur, or a formula that lessens the amount of damage dealt with each hit (whatever that is called)

over well balanced and worth the wait

Patch out TOMORROW!

Quote:
Namco Bandi Games has revealed additional details about the forthcoming free downloadable update that will enhance the online experience for players of Tekken 6 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The patch is expected to be released on 26th November.

The update is separate from the online co-op Scenario Campaign mode download which is scheduled for release separately this winter.

The patch includes the following changes:

- Improved input response: improvement of the game's responsiveness to button / command inputs;
- Selectable search priorities for ranked matches: players will be able to set search priorities for opponents in ranked matches based on comparable rank or connection quality as well as location;
- Optimized data transmission between fighters and spectators: fight data will be optimized in order to reduce the bandwidth load on the host’s console;
- Signal strength bars: the signal strength bar will reflect connection quality more accurately;
- Chance to cancel match: players will be able to cancel the match before it begins once the opponent's signal strength has been displayed on ranked matches.
