That was actually one of his worse move ever, a total sell out. Sorry, but a lot of the noobs who just get into Electronic music think that Tiesto is still the best and is still Trance. His best moments were Magik series, ISOS series and his Just Be Album and also Nyana. You will notice the down fall when you listen to Elements of Life album you can tell the change of the tone. Another thing to add, even though this is a Tiesto thread David Guetta is also a sellout he is another Tiesto and worse people really need to stop and listen the difference between House and Trance. First off David Guetta is no longer House music his latest album is crap load of pop with mix of rap artist. Tiesto no more Trance he is mix of Pop, Mainstream House and now he is trying to throw in Dubstep.

If you think about this, it is better when an artist covers many disciplines of electronic music, keeping the fresh feeling and progressing. On the other hand, musicians switching genres to follow the band wagon, could do so without dispelling their own roots in the genre, their fans and fellow musicians. These moves seem to be ego motivated and only raise question of the credibility of future efforts, leaving only the past efforts to stand as pillars of evidence speaking for the integrity of the artist. Pride in electronic genres and rivalries between styles certainly shows itself as an issue.

I noticed a pattern here a while ago. Why are the Dutch producers doing this? Is there some kind of "special incentive" other than money and popularity? Just saying...

Tiesto was great in his earlier years. One of my many favorite tracks by him was Tiesto - Ancient History

My advice for Tiesto is to take his fame and cut out the producer tracks that he pumps out. He could take a lesson from BT and step out of the fame circle for a few and use his talent to start making some real music. Don't get me wrong, I like his stuff, but it sounds very prefab. I saw him in NYC a year ago and he was great but it lacked that independent sound that I feel gives electronic music its heart. Same goes for Armada. Armin is one of my favorites but I liked tracks like Gaia - Tuvan over poptrance like "broken tonight". That shit needs to go.
