It's all about taste. there are some good pop songs and there are some bad pop songs. I like some of the radio friendly dance-pop i'm hearing these days. You have to listen to it with a different 'ear' than you'd listen to underground stuff.

That's a bad way to look at music. You have to keep an open mind. Saying you don't know how people like Pop music would be like a pop listenr asking how you listen to that "gay Trance stuff" lol.

Pop music ruled in the 1980's. Nothing can beat that decade because all styles were good. The 1990's were good too but started to decline in the later years. Then the 2000's till today the pop music is pure crap and I can't stand it.

But now it's absolute crap. There is good music being made just not top 40 which is fine. I listen to J-pop, new age, smooth jazz that is current and that is excellent.

Are the pop charts in the US normally this static? I mean, let's take "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. When I first heard it I thought: "Meh, this is perfectly generic non-offensive pop crap. Whatever." And then I hear it hits number one and stays there for... How many weeks exactly? How?

Scientist officially confirmed it. Pop music too loud and all sounds the same. http://j.mp/NBmZ0y
![]() The same could be said about trance today. They should do a study on trouse. It would look something like 50% white noise, 50% the same, -100% listenable.

He's gone!!!
![]() I won't bash pop music and say that it sucks because pop has its place but it's not my thing and never has been.

For the most part now, EDM has taken over as my main listening music, especially Trance since it makes for some really good driving music. Last edited by Demache : Aug 14th, 2012 at 09:10 PM. |

pop music ruined a Dance Music Station I listened to in Las Vegas back in 2008 94.5 the vibe, July of 2010 they flip flopped the format to top 40 drek and the ratings plummeted, by Jun of 2011 they were taken off the air and replaced by Jelli Radio, not much of an improvement cause they still played the same crap, the vibe had moved to a barstow station that plays in vegas called Highway 99.7 only on during midnight to 5am, for a while they were improving and going back to the way it was sposed to be, EDM, shortly after returning to 24/7 format on the station they went right back to the top 40 crap and were yanked off the air in less than 2 weeks, with the station firing Mike Oaks who ruined the station back when it was on 94.5
