Hahahahaha oh man!!! I am listening to this right now... they are fighting about the definition of a rave! Holy crap are they getting excited, it's hillarious!

Seriously, download this and listen from 20:00 to 22:00, it's the funniest argument I've heard in a long time!

I don't. It's in case of riot control plain and simple. Like stated, they had no idea what they were going to be going up against. I've seen up to 5 cops with 1 dog going after 1 crackhead, so why you think it's overboard at something like this is really beyond me.

Excuse me?
Last time I checked, in the US it is still legal to have fun. It is still legal to enjoy yourself. It is still legal to listen to good music and have a good time doing it.
There are seriously more injuries/drugs/weapons at heavy metal concerts and shit, yet you don't see them raiding those. What the **** is this country coming to? We have rights, and they were just clearly destroyed. Shot right out of the ****ing water.
They make it sound like raves are a bad thing in that news report. Now I think I see why many times people refuse to accept EDM, because they don't want to be associated with what the news and the government thinks of as bad.

Just like the news makes everything look like everybody's doing something good?

I'm not attacking you but, what massive death toll are you talking about related to raves?

I think the person is questioning the fact that some people have died as a result of drugs....... we could quite easily draw the attention to the amount of deaths caused by smoking and drinking but it's a good taxable drug are those two. Basically we are being tarred with the drugs will kill you brush.......

If you think we are "morons" because we believe (blindly by your reckoning) what we hear from first hand accounts and video, then you would be equally blind in thinking that the authorities couldn't fabricate details or alter the truth.

I hope the truth comes out either way. It all pins on the Permit and if they really had one. If they can trace the permit back then the state of Utah and local police have plenty to worry about.

I was thinking along the same lines and maybe I'm getting caught in the symantics. But I've not heard of a "massive" death toll related to raves. Drugs yes. Deaths from drugs at raves I'm not too sure about. More people get shot over the dealings of drugs than people ODing on them.

And you're right, there are more deaths from cancer from smoking and drunk driving than illegal drugs. Its the legal ones that will get ya.

Wow I went to a rave just last weekend, I'm glad that one didn't get shut down. But this was a hard blow for the US raving community.

Ravers are being intimidated and backed into a corner where it is difficult to appear responsible! Ravers need to step carefully as ravers are being targeted strongly right now and the ice is thin. Exageration costs integrity! Misinformation and disinformation cannot be avoided but wise judgement is quite affordable.

IF WE WANT TO PARTY IN PEACE WE MUST PROMOTE IT!
NEVER GIVE UP

the real fight is still the right of the freedom of consciousness and the freedom to practice the right to gather together in JOY and pursue happiness. THESE RIGHTS ARE BEING STOMPED ON! IN THE NAME OF STOMPING OF THE FREEDOM OF THE INDIVIDUAL MIND!

the government can only strangle itself for so long before it faints!

i believe just as the jam band scene has gained significant acceptance in the american culture, so will this rave phenomenom weather the storm of burrowing it's way into the american way!

I happen to have met many kind hearted people who are police officers doing their job, the problem is not them. Swirls and tulmultous eddies resolve and repeat always. Tis natural and healthy, ride out the flow, why be immature and childish!?

It's akin to Pb's point of grammar being important in how seriously one's purpose is taken. Ever noticed the difference clothing and cleanliness has on the service one recieves in a store or resturaunt? Ever tried to get service while wearing tatters or being obscenely childish in a three piece suit resturaunt?

it doesn't have to be a massive number total as long as the ones dying are children ar have left behind enough people to care and raise attention to the scene they are choosing to blame, massive, fine I'll give you hundreds
